Placido Polanco said he is "90 percent" retired.
The 39-year-old Polanco did not play anywhere in 2014 after batting .260/.315/.302 in 118 games for the Marlins in 2013. Polanco left open the possibility to return to the Marlins, Phillies or Tigers, though if he really wants to win a World Series ring the Phillies are probably out. Some team would probably do well to make Polanco a minor league player/coach like the Cubs did with Manny Ramirez last season. Polanco would have NL-only value with the Phillies or Marlins, but it is hard to believe he could ever again be relevant in mixed leagues.
