Tony Parker Headshot

Tony Parker (foot) will not play on Saturday night and will also be out of the lineup on Monday.

That simplifies things for those who play daily NBA fantasy. Dejounte Murray started in place of Parker on Thursday when he first sat out with the foot issue, and is the player to target if you want to use a Spur point guard in your daily lineups, as he put up 24 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal over his 34 minutes against the Nuggets on Thursday.

Jeanmar Gomez Headshot

Jeanmar Gomez will get the opportunity to regain the closers job from Hector Neris, according to manager Pete Mackanin.

He was a solid closer for the first five months of last season, before losing the job when he faltered in September. He did rack up 37 saves but his ERA blew up by nearly two runs between August 31 (2.97 ERA) and September 29 (4.85 ERA). It should prove to be an intriguing spring training with Gomez and Neris competing for the closer role on the Phillies, but this kind of news makes drafting your fantasy team that more difficult.

Ryan Kerrigan Headshot

Ryan Kerrigan underwent minor surgery to clean up some loose bodies in his left elbow.

That puts an end to his ability to play in the Pro Bowl, an honor he earned by playing in all 16 games this season and collecting 33 total tackles and 11 sacks. He will be sidelined for six to eight weeks, but assuming he heals without any setbacks, he should be ready to participate in the Washington off-season activities.

Kurt Suzuki Headshot

Update: Kurt Suzuki's deal with the Braves is a one year deal for $1.5M with $2.5M in incentives.

The Braves have a crowd at catcher right now, with the addition of Suzuki to the mix. Tyler Flowers, Anthony Recker and Tuffy Gosewisch were already on the roster, and now the former Twin backstop joins the mix. It will be interesting to watch how this situation plays out during the spring, as the team is highly unlikely to keep four catchers on the final 25 man roster.

Jordan Zimmermann Headshot

Jordan Zimmermann (neck) threw pain-free off a mound last week.

The Tigers are counting on Zimmermann to return to form, and pitch like he did for them through May of last season. His strikeout numbers were disappointing, falling from 7.32 K/9 in 2015 when he was with the Nationals down to 5.64 K/9 over his 19 appearances in 2016. He has been getting injections and undergoing physical therapy to deal with his back and neck pain he suffered through in 2016, and the hope is that he will respond and return to the Detroit rotation for a full season.

Kevin Love Headshot

Update: Kevin Love (back) did not participate in Saturday morning's shootaround.

This is not very good news for Love and the Cavs. Normally when players don't participate in shootaround it is an indication that they will not play. Love missed Thursday's game against the Suns after injuring his back on Monday. With Love having back problems in the past and with him not progressing as expected the Cavs might rest him again. That should mean another start for James Jones and more scoring opportunities for LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

Kurt Suzuki Headshot

Braves have signed Kurt Suzuki.

Suzuki was the primary catcher for the Twins the past three seasons, although his game count was down to 106 in 2016. He will compete with Tyler Flowers, Tuffy Gosewisch and Anthony Recker to make the roster out of spring training, making the catching position one to watch on the rebuilding Braves.
