Fantasy Baseball Bullpen Report: May 2

Update: Connor Barth has been released by Tampa Bay.

This should come as no surprise, as the Buccaneers took a kicker – Roberto Aguayo – in the second round of last weekend's NFL Draft. Aguayo will prove to be an instant upgrade over Barth, as he finished his Florida State career as the most accurate kicker in NCAA history.

Moritz Boehringer has signed with the Vikings.

The 6-foot-4, 230 LBS German freak of nature is the first straight from Europe product to ever be drafted to an NFL team. His tape was spectacular – however against competition that appeared less skilled than a Rhode Island Pop Warner squad – but in any event, his 4.43 40-time is not something that can be misleading. The guy is incredibly gifted athletically, and the Vikings are a stable enough franchise that can bring him along slowly. The heartwarming aspect of this story is that since he first began following American Football, Boehringer has been a fan of the Vikings and Adrian Peterson the most. It is a great day for the NFL that they can make a fan's wish come true, especially one from overseas.

Update: Jed Lowrie (calf) will be available off of the bench on Monday against the Mariners.

While they plan on not using Lowrie, Chris Coghlan will start at second on Monday night, while Mark Canah plays third. Once 100-percent, Lowrie will be back in the lineup, while Coghlan will move back to third base.

Update: Pablo Sandoval is likely to miss the rest of the season following the shoulder surgery.

Considering the horrendous shape that he already is in as a professional athlete, it is terrifying to think what kind of weight he can pack on while being laid up during recovery of his shoulder surgery. Already panning out to be an albatross of a contract, the Red Sox need to closely monitor the exercise and dietary habits of the Panda during his recovery timetable.

Giants signed DT Greg MIlhouse.

The former Campbell Camel of FCS fame, is a longshot to make the final 53-man roster, however it is a nice story for a college who just began playing football eight years ago. Best of luck to him going forward.

Cardinals signed LS Daniel Dillon.

No fantasy owner is likely reading this, as most pass right by when they see the letters LS next to a player's name. Considering this, let's keep it simple... Long snappers hold no fantasy value and thus this signing is irrelevant in the fantasy world.

Red Sox signed free agent first baseman Ryan Court to a minor league contract.

Court brings a solid bad to the Red Sox organization, but for now holds no guarantees of ever making the big league club. Because of this, fantasy owners can keep Court's name out of their minds, while he further develops in the minor league system.

John Lamb was scratched from Monday's rehab start at Triple-A Louisville.

The fact that a pitcher struggling to get under a 9.00 ERA in the minors is getting a look as a spot starter in the majors should tell you everything that you need to know about the state of the Reds rotation right now. Fantasy owners shouldn't give him the time of day, regardless of his matchup on Tuesday.
