The NBA will announced reserves for next month's All-Star game this week and in advance of the release, we wanted to name our own list. First, the starters as announced by the Association. The guards are Boston's Rajon Rondo and Miami's Dwayne Wade. Wade's teammate Lebron James will man one forward spot, alongside New York's Carmelo Anthony with Boston's Kevin Garnett manning the middle. The starters are always a popularity contest, now a look at those deserving of a reserve roll.
We are approaching the magical 41 game mark as the NBA season reaches the midway point. Unfortunately, NBA fans now have to share time on Sportscenter with NHL fans, less highlights from the hardwood to make time for the ice. Lets make the rounds in the Association and check in on each Division. What veteran players have emerged? Grading the acquisitions and evaluating draft picks. Most importantly, the fantasy winners and losers across the Association. We begin in the Atlantic Division.
As we roll into the 2012-'13 NBA season, we're going to take you through an overview of each of the six divisions. Who are key newcomers? Who are notable for your fantasy team? Last season was brutal with a late and sudden December start to an abbreviated season. We continue our previews with the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. Does Boston have another run left? How improved is Brooklyn with a healthy Brook Lopez and the addition of Joe Johnson? Are the Knicks ready for a run with the best front court in the Eastern Conference? And is Andrew Bynum durable enough to provide the post presence to support the perimeter rich Sixers? Toronto... in a case of the rich getting richer, one of first round picks that Oklahoma City received in the James Harden deal is going to be a Raptors lottery pick.

The NBA season is less than six weeks old, but its already time to announce the All-Star game starters. The names will be unveiled tonight LIVE during a one hour special on TNT at 7pm EST. Shaq, Charles, Kenny and Ernie will do the honors prior to the Thursday night doubleheader. The Bulls and Knicks tip off at eight, followed by the Nuggets and Clippers. *** SPOILER ALERT ***
How are injuries impacting your fantasy team? I picked up then Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Eric Gordon, cheap at my auction. When the bidding ended, I heard hushed mentions of "he's injured again". Well, he wasn't injured at that point, but has been ever since. Just yesterday, I lost Washington Wizards power forward Andray Blatche for three-to-five weeks. This is the case of an injury helping you, at least in the short term. I was able to pickup versatile Boris Diaw of Charlotte. In my league, he qualifes at center and forward and is coming off a 20 point, 10 assist game.
Dwight Howard has been dominating the boards this season and at the same time, dominating conversation when it comes to his next destination. In the last week, he has added the Los Angeles Clippers to his "approved" trade list and has also been mentioned in trade rumors involving the Knicks. New York reportedly suggesting a package that would send Amare Stoudamire and Tyson Chandler to the Magic Kingdom. Today, we have details on Superman's wish to end up in the City of Angels... across town from Kobe.
It's going to be a busy Summer of reality TV! Not only will we have the Presidential conventions in Charlotte and Denver, but the Summer Olympic Games in London. It's the 20th Anniversary of the "Dream Team" in Barcelona. Often imitated, never duplicated, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson in Spain was a once in a lifetime event. I had the pleasure of "covering" the Boys of Barcelona and am still awaiting, but not expecting a duplication of the excitement it brought not only the United States, but the World.
A pair of brutal injuries top your mid-week update from the Association. The NBA releases its All-Star ballot and a trade to report. The trade was made to try and lessen the impact of one of the injuries and we give our early vote for the All-Star classic.
