Brandon Kintzler Headshot

Kintzler pitched a scoreless ninth inning to collect his 12th save of the season during Wednesday's win over Baltimore.

Now a rock-solid 12-for-13 in save opportunities, Kintzler is locked in as the Minnesota closer, and his 1.71 ERA and 1.14 WHIP are excellent fantasy marks. The only knock on the 32-year-old righty to this point is his lackluster 5.6 K/9 for the year.

J.A. Happ Headshot

General manager Ross Atkins said Happ (elbow) will require 1-to-3 rehab starts before being activated, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Happ has been sidelined with elbow inflammation since April 17, and although it was originally only supposed to cost him a couple start, the 34-year-old is just now nearing a return to the Blue Jays. If all goes well during his rehab starts, Atkins said Happ could be back with the big club in 10-to-15 days.

Chris Tillman Headshot

Tillman (1-1) allowed four runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out three batters over just five innings during Wednesday's loss to Minnesota.

The veteran righty has now allowed 10 runs over his past 15.1 innings with just 11 strikeouts. The underwhelming stretch has him sporting a 4.43 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and 6.6 K/9 through his four starts this season. Tillman is capable of stringing together hot streaks, and toeing the rubber for a winning ball team also has value. However, he's a probably best viewed as a matchup-based option, and even then, expectations should be kept in check. Tillman has a daunting matchup against the Yankees on deck.

Hyun-Jin Ryu Headshot

Ryu remains without a date set for his next start and could ultimately switch to a long relief role, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

With Kenta Maeda (hamstring) expected to come of the disabled list to start Thursday's game, Ryu finds himself as the odd man out in a deep Dodgers' rotation. While manager Dave Roberts wouldn't comment when Ryu would pitch next, he didn't rule out temporarily moving the 30-year-old to the bullpen as a long relief option, though he hesitated given Ryu's lack of experience in such a role. Through seven starts this season, Ryu has compiled a 4.75 ERA and 36 strikeouts across 36 innings.
9:00 pm (EST)
José Berrios Headshot

Berrios (3-0) allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over 6.1 innings during Wednesday's win over Baltimore.

All three runs were the result of solo home runs, so Berrios was fortunate that he limited the baserunners he allowed Wednesday. The three round trippers were the first of the season given up by Berrios, and he surrendered just two through 39.2 innings with Triple-A Rochester. However, after allowing 1.9 HR/9 during his debut trip through the majors last year, the long ball has hindered Berrios' fantasy value in the past. It'll be a trend to watch over his upcoming starts. He now sports a 1.66 ERA, 0.55 WHIP and 9.1 K/9 through his three outings this season, and it isn't out of the question to view the 22-year-old righty as a set-and-forget starting pitcher going forward. Berrios faces a tough test against the league-best Astros in his next start. It will be a telling outing.

Jacoby Ellsbury Headshot

Ellsbury was removed early from Wednesday's game against the Royals with a neck sprain and a concussion, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Ellsbury was forced out of the contest after just one inning following his collision with the outfield wall. Although nothing is confirmed, this will likely send him to the 7-day disabled list. He'll be re-evaluated Thursday, and if he is forced to go on the DL, expect Aaron Hicks to take over the bulk of center field duties in his absence.
8:38 pm (EST)
Manny Margot Headshot

Margot was prematurely removed from Wednesday's contest against the Mets with right lower leg tightness.

Margot was 0-for-2 before being replaced in the third inning by Matt Szczur. The severity of the injury remains unclear, though more should be known following the conclusion of Wednesday's game.
