Jordy Nelson Headshot

Jordy Nelson (ribs) limited at Thursday's practice.

Nelson is making progress but the weekend is coming up really fast so his status is still completely up in the air. If Nelson does in fact end up playing, it could be on a limited basis or he could be used as more of a decoy than an actual target. We will find out closer to game day if Nelson will indeed suit up.

Adrian Peterson Headshot

Update: Adrian Peterson says he sees himself remaining with Minnesota but mentioned the Giants, Texans and Buccaneers as teams he might consider in free agency.

There haven't really been any rumblings that Minnesota is through with AP, but we now know his preferred landing spots if they are. Saying something like this public might not be the best thing for yourself if you want to stay where you are, however. Peterson is coming off an injury-riddled season and when he did finally return in latter part of the season, he didn't show any signs of explosiveness.

Taj Gibson Headshot

Taj Gibson (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Friday's game.

Gibson practiced on Thursday and looked good according to head coach Fred Hoiberg so it's looking pretty optimistic for Gibson. If he doesn't suit up, Paul Zipser will likely start but Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott would see the biggest boost in minutes.

Nikola Jokic Headshot

Nikola Jokic (ankle) will play in Thursday's game.

Jokic has been able to play through his ankle sprain recently and will continue to do so on Thursday. Not only has he played through the ankle sprain, but he's been playing arguably the best basketball of his career. He has three straight games of 22 points or more and has a double-double in all three of those contests. Jokic gets an interesting matchup with one of the better defensive teams in the game on Thursday and his price has ballooned because of the aforementioned tear he's been on. Jokic can be plugged into both your cash and GPP lineups on Thursday despite the tough matchup because of how well he contributes in the peripheral categories.

Neftali Feliz Headshot

Brewers sign RHP Neftali Feliz to a 1-year contract.

After two back-to-back subpar campaigns, he ended up in Pittsburgh for the 2016 campaign and revitalized his career like so many have under pitching coach Ray Searage. Feliz isn't the same pitcher he was when he was closing games for the Rangers earlier the decade, but he was a reliable middle reliever last season.

Darrell Arthur Headshot

Darrell Arthur (knee) will not play Thursday.

Arthur will miss his fourth straight game on Thursday as he continues to battle a knee injury. Arthur's minutes have mainly been distributed to Nikola Jokic and Kenneth Faried and that will likely remain the case going forward.

Andrew Luck Headshot

Andrew Luck (shoulder) is expected to start throwing in three months.

Again, this stuff is so far off and we have no way of knowing how his shoulder is going react at this point. The expectation is three months but a "full return" probably isn't likely for six month after undergoing surgery after the season. The hope is that he can be back practicing in full by mid-July which means he'll miss most of the Colts offseason program. As of right now, there is a good chance that he'll be ready to go Week 1 but there is so much that could happen between now and then.

Quincy Acy Headshot

Quincy Acy has signed a second 10-day contract with the Brooklyn Nets.

We have seen Acy make four very brief appearances for the Nets and made a nice impression averaging 6.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in just 7.5 minutes per game. We don't see his role growing much at this point, so fantasy owners can just ignore him on waiver wires.

Adrian Peterson Headshot

Adrian Peterson has said he’d like to stay with the Vikings. Teammate Chad Greenway thinks there’s a good chance Peterson won’t be back.

Oh, that's really nice Chad, so glad we could get your take on Adrian Peterson's future with the team. AD would of course love to finish his career in Minnesota but that just might not be in the cards as he is owed $17.75 million in salary and bonuses next season, which is just way too much to pay any running back these days especially one that's 33 and coming off a knee injury. My guess is that he's played his last game in purple but who knows what happens this off-season.

Michael Saunders Headshot

Michael Saunders has passed his physical exam.

This passed physical just means that the deal is now official between the Phillies and Michael Saunders is now official. He signed a one-year, $9 million contract with an $11 million club option for 2018. I think Saunders was surprised at the lack of opportunities that were presented to him this off-season but not really surprising when you look at his second half of 2016. He might end up being a great buy low pick up for the Phillies as they continue their rapid organizational rebuild. If he does get off to a good start in 2017, the Phillies would have a nice piece to trade at the deadline to acquire more young talent. He finished 2016 with a .815 OPS and 24 homers in 140 games last year with Toronto.
