Week 4 arrives, and as the season moves toward the end of the first month, we are beginning to see rotations settle in, allowing us to make some assumptions about Starting Pitchers that have relevance in the fantasy world. As I have the past couple of years, I will be looking at two start options each week, attempting to guide you to victory in your Head to Head leagues, or accumulate stats or points in your various leagues.
As the season progresses, and we move into the end of Week 3, while there are a lot of streaming options, there are just not that many worth picking up. I've scoured those SPs that are owned in less than 50% of leagues, and I am sorry to report that I can only suggest the following five pitchers for your end of the week rescue efforts. Things will sort themselves out as the year progresses, to be sure, but right now it is more important to get quality stats than just to stream for the sake of streaming, at least in my opinion.
Moving into Week 3, and it is high time we started to explore the 2 Start options in fantasy baseball. For those of you Head to Head leagues, these are important considerations when you plan how to take on your opponents week by week, but it is something to consider even in roto or points leagues, as a SP that can provide a double dose of stats is always valuable.
With a full week plus in the books, it is now a proper time to look at some streaming options in your leagues. Especially if you had Greinke or Weaver as your SP1/2, then you need some help. So without further ado (well, maybe a tiny bit of ado) here are some pitchers you might want to pick up for a start this weekend.
Here we are, in the final week of the fantasy baseball season, and this is my final 2 Start Pitcher article of the 2012 season. If you are in it to win it, then some of these middle tier guys may just help push you over the edge to fantasy victory. Avoid the guys in the final tier unless you are extremely desperate, and even then, I can't suggest you go there in good faith.
For those of you still fighting for a championship, the good news is that the pitching options for this upcoming week are quite appealing. The other good news is that I don't have any bad news to report. So, let's see who you should be snapping up off the wire to push you over the edge to fantasy glory.
Heading into the middle of September, and with all the call ups, our options to stream 2 start pitchers are becoming less attractive. Still, the middle tier has some decent choices, at least at the top of the tier.
I apologize for the lateness of this post, but I've been immersed all weekend in Fantasy Football drafts, and it won't get any better until late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning when we wrap up our Fantasy Alarm staff auction draft. Next week's article will be more timely, I promise. And because of my schedule, not much time to provide in depth analysis this week either.
Before we get to the 2 Start Options for this upcoming scoring period, a moment of silence for my loss...of BFBC, TT edition. Should have known Colon's production was too good to be natural, but losing him for the rest of the season truly hurts. Been scrambling all week to find a suitable replacement, some of whom are in the second tier below. Anythehoo, let's get to it.
As the season rolls though August, it's time to prepare for the stretch run if you are in contention for your league title. Pick up as many fantasy points as you can now, and position your team for the final showdown. With that in mind, let's take a look at those two start pitching options that can help you out this week.
