Ben Bentil Headshot

Pacers have signed Ben Bentil.

The Celtics selected Bentil out of Providence with their number 51 pick overall. He probably should have gone back to school for another year but coming off of a terrific sophomore campaign in which he averaged 21.1 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks, while shooting 32.9 percent from downtown, most thought he could have gone first round. He was released by the Celtics on October 21st and he'll likely end up on the Pacers D-League squad.

Michael Fulmer Headshot

Michael Fulmer has been named the Sporting News AL Rookie of the Year.

The rookie finished the 2016 season with a 3.06 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 132/42 K/BB over 159 innings. In 26 starts this season, he allowed only 136 hits which is pretty remarkable when you look at how badly his first four starts went. “It’s an honor to earn a little respect from these guys,” Fulmer told SN. “I respect everybody I play against, so to get noticed like that, it’s really awesome.”

Gary Payton Headshot

Rockets have waived Gary Payton II.

The "Glove's" son may have his dad's defensive skill but falls short when it comes to the offensive game. It also does not help his chances of making the Rockets when Houston has way too many point guard options, someone had to go. He will either head over overseas to play in the D-League.

Dwayne Harris Headshot

Update: Giants say Dwayne Harris is "ok" after being carted off the field in Week 7.

It did not look good for the veteran kick return on Sunday in London when he took a big hit to the back on a punt return just before halftime. It took a little while for the trainers to get him off the field and onto the cart. He did not return to the game but the Giants have said he's doing ok. Harris will get an extra week to rest as the Giants get their bye in Week 8 and return home to face the Eagles on November 6th.

James Bradberry Headshot

James Bradberry (toe) is practicing on Monday.

This is great news for a Panthers' secondary that has been torched over the past few weeks. Bradberry missed the last two games with turf toe and the bye week was just the medicine to get him back on the practice field. He will likely be limited early this week before ramping it up as we get closer to the start of Week 8 when the Panthers welcome in the Arizona Cardinals to Charlotte.

Michael Oher Headshot

Michael Oher is not on the field for Monday's practice.

The veteran tackle missed his third straight game in the Panthers Week 6 loss to the Saints with a concussion. We are now through Carolina's bye week and he is still not practicing. Mike Remmers would continue to switch from right to left tackle with Daryl Williams playing on the ride side, if Oher was to miss another week. The Panthers cannot wait to get Oher back on the field as Remmers has struggled in the role of left tackle.

Devin Funchess Headshot

Devin Funchess is not practicing on Monday.

Most people thought this could be a break out season for Devin Funchess with the return of Kelvin Benjamin alongside him but it has been a huge disappointment. The second year receiver has caught just seven balls for 112 yards and two touchdowns through six games this season. There is no report on why he is out of practice today but we will update you when more information is available.

Alonzo Gee Headshot

Pelicans have waived Alonzo Gee.

He was beat out by Lance Stephenson for the final roster spot in New Orleans. Stephenson outplayed him in the preseason and the Pelicans needed an experienced ball-handler with the absence of Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans still out with a knee injury. He will likely latch on somewhere else before the season starts but if not, there is always the D-league.

Lance Stephenson Headshot

Lance Stephenson has made the Pelicans final 15-man roster.

Lance Stephenson beat out Alonzo Gee for the final roster spot in New Orleans. He just played better throughout the preseason and made it a pretty easy decision for the Pelicans. New Orleans needed another experienced ball-handler with the absence of Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans still out with a knee injury. "I think he did a good job for us," coach Alvin Gentry said. "He was kind of locked in and tried to do the things we asked him to do." Even though he made the team, he is not really an option in standard formats especially to start the season.
