After the Cubs made a big comeback in the ninth inning, they finally took the lead in the 11th inning, allowing Davis to come on to nail down the one-run. He's yet to allow a run in nine appearances, and he'll continue to be an extremely valuable fantasy commodity while pitching for one of the best teams in the majors.

Davis pitched a scoreless ninth inning to collect his second win of the season after Chicago scored four runs in the bottom of the frame against Milwaukee on Wednesday.

Davis hasn't allowed a run through 7.1 innings, and with his velocity still hovering in the mid-90s, he's probably re-solidified himself as an elite closer. Expect the saves to start piling up, and he has the potential to earn a few more check marks in the wins column because of Chicago's propensity for come-for-behind dramatics.

Davis tossed a clean ninth inning Tuesday to pick up his third save of the season in a 9-7 win over the Brewers.

He needed just nine pitches to close out the proceedings. Davis has been everything the Cubs could have hoped for so far, posting a 0.00 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 6:1 K:BB through his first 6.1 innings with the club.

Davis (1-0) allowed one hit while striking out one in his inning of work for his first win in Monday's 3-2 victory over the Dodgers.

Davis entered in the top of the ninth inning in a tie game and saw his offense scratch together a run in the bottom of the frame to make him a winner. The talented right-handed reliever already has two saves in the early going and could be a dominant ninth-inning arm for a team that will give him plenty of opportunities to shut the door.

Davis gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his second save of the season in a 6-4 win over the Cardinals.

The 31-year-old is now two-for-two in converting save opportunities as a Cub. Davis racked up a career-high 27 saves with the Royals last year, but he should easily top that number in 2017 if he can stay healthy.

Davis worked around a walk in a scoreless inning to earn his first save of the season in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Cubs.

Entering a one-run game, Davis put the second man he faced on base with a walk but was able to retire the next two batters for his first save in a Cubs uniform. He has been a premier relief pitcher over the last few seasons and should be one of the elite fantasy closers this season as he looks to capitalize on the wealth of save opportunities afforded him by his new team.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon said he's not worried about Davis despite his 19.64 spring training ERA, Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago reports.

Maddon managed Davis in Tampa Bay previously, and he said he's not worried about the righty's slow start. "You're not going to believe this, but he's actually throwing better than he normally does in spring training," Maddon said. "The biggest problem he's having right now is command. Velocity looks good. The break on the breaking ball looks good. He's just not throwing the ball where he wants it." The bloated ERA is in just 3.2 innings, so the small sample size caveat applies here. But Davis did miss time last season with a flexor strain in his pitching elbow, so if the struggles continue for too long they will raise some red flags.

Davis pitched a scoreless inning in Monday's spring training win over the Rockies, allowing one hit and striking out two.

After giving up four earned runs over his first 1.1 innings this spring, Davis has now turned in consecutive scoreless outings. He missed some time last season due to a flexor strain, but if Davis stays healthy in 2017, he should post a lot of saves for a Cubs team that won 103 games last year.

Davis struggled in his first action in a Cubs uniform, giving up three runs in a third of inning Sunday against the Rangers.

Davis' performance Sunday certainly couldn't have been the spring debut he was hoping for. He began his outing with a lead off walk and then went on to allow three consecutive hits before being taken out. The Cubs will be hoping Davis, who missed much of last season with elbow issues, can knock off the rust soon considering that they brought him in to replace Aroldis Chapman as their closer.

Davis is one of many Cubs pitchers with workload restrictions this spring, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Koji Uehara is in the same boat, while the Cubs are also limiting the work of their starters in the wake of a World Series title last season, and in anticipation of another postseason run in 2017. Davis will likely make six-to-eight appearances between now and the end of the Cactus League schedule. As long as he stays healthy, Davis is expected serve as the Cubs' closer this season after being acquired for Jorge Soler in December.
