Jose Ramirez Headshot

Braves recalled Jose Ramirez from Triple-A Gwinnett.

After pitching on the ninth and 10th of April and the outings not going well, he was designated for assignment. Since then however, he has pitched incredibly well at Triple-A and has earned his way back on the roster. He will deal in a middle relief role for the Braves and try and fix his 27.00 ERA.

Nolan Reimold Headshot

Nolan Reimold is not in the Orioles lineup on Thursday.

Reimold has only played a part-time role in the Baltimore outfield this season and will find himself back on the bench to start Thursday's game. Hyun-Soo Kim, Adam Jones, and Mark Trumbo will make up the starting outfield from left to right against the Twins.

Matt Wieters Headshot

Matt Wieters is not in the Orioles lineup on Thursday.

After starting the previous three games, Wieters will rest on Thursday as Caleb Joseph will start behind the dish. Wieters has not been good during July, batting .137 with no home runs and just one RBI.

Jason Heyward Headshot

Jason Heyward is not in the Cubs lineup on Thursday.

With a tough lefty in Chris Sale on the mound for the White Sox, their crosstown rivals have elected to sit Heyward. Heyward isn't hitting well against lefties or righties but has has a slightly better average against RHP. Matt Szczur will start in left field and bat eighth while Ben Zobrist shifts over to right field.

Daniel Hudson Headshot

Diamondbacks are close to trading Daniel Hudson.

Where Hudson is going to go is unknown, but it is said to be close. After an excellent 2015 campaign for the Diamondbacks, Hudson has regressed mightily in '16. His ERA has ballooned to 6.08 as he's allowed 12 earned runs in just 6.1 July innings.

Randal Grichuk Headshot

Randal Grichuk is not in the Cardinals lineup on Thursday.

As Grichuk has begun to slump over his last seven days, the Cardinals will give him a day off with Jeremy Hazelbaker starting in center field. Grichuk has been better since being called up hitting .276 during the month of July but like we previously mentioned, he's been bad over the last seven days hitting just .125.

Kyle Long Headshot

Kyle Long left Thursday's practice with a strained calf.

Long should be considered day-to-day going forward with a strained calf. Camp just opened up on Thursday for most teams so he'll have time to rest and get back to practice before any game action takes place.

Henry Urrutia Headshot

Henry Urrutia has cleared waivers and was optioned to Double-A Bowie.

The 29-year old Urrutia had spent his entire 2016 campaign at Triple-A before being placed on waivers. He hit just .245 with Norfolk, hitting no home runs and just six extra-base hits total. He'll likely make it back to Triple-A at some point this season but won't ever get the call to the bigs.

Anquan Boldin Headshot

Anquan Boldin will make $2.75 million this season plus incentives.

The 35-year old Boldin could make north of $3M this season if he plays well enough for his incentives put in his contract to kick in. Boldin showed just last season he still has plenty left in the tank as he came away with 69 receptions for 789 yards and four touchdowns. Despite his illustrious career up to this point, we should expect some type of drop off in production this season. If that's the case, he shouldn't be owned in many fantasy leagues.

Dee Gordon Headshot

Dee Gordon returned to the Marlins lineup on Friday.

After serving his 80-game suspension for being caught taking PEDs, Gordon will return to action on Friday. Gordon was one of the last people in baseball we expected to ever be caught taking a banned substance but it happened and he had to pay the consequences. Gordon will be placed right back atop the Marlins lineup from here on out as the team looks to secure a playoff spot. Gordon played 21 games before the suspension as he hit .266 and stole six bases. He could be a difference maker for all of his fantasy owners heading into the stretch run of the season.
