Malik Beasley Headshot

Beasley was assigned Wednesday to the D-League's Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Beasley has seen a total of three minutes with the Nuggets in March, so another stint with the Skyforce allows him the opportunity to see extended playing time. He could be recalled in time for Friday's matchup with the Pacers, but an injury would likely have to occur higher up on the depth chart before Beasley sees regular minutes in the rotation.

Alexi Amarista Headshot

Amarista exited Wednesday's spring game after he was hit by a pitch on his forearm, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Amarista had his wrist checked out in the dugout afterwards, but the substitution primarily appeared to be precautionary, as it didn't appear to be overly serious. He should be considered day-to-day until the Rockies note otherwise.

Nick Hundley Headshot

Hundley went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in Tuesday's win over the Padres.

The veteran catcher was signed by the Giants this past offseason to serve as Buster Posey's primary backup. The Giants are known to move their All-Star catcher to first base against southpaws, so Hundley should get a start or two per week, slightly above the usual allotment for backup catchers. Still, it would take an injury to Posey for him to have any sort of fantasy value in standard one-catcher leagues.

Jarrett Parker Headshot

Parker is expected to be the Giants' starting left fielder at the start of the regular season, CSN Bay Area reports.

Parker has already done enough with his bat this spring (.286 with four homers and 12 RBI) to earn the starting job, but with Mac Williamson (quadriceps) and Mike Morse (hamstring) going down with injuries, the 29-year-old is the last man standing in the competition for regular at-bats against righties. The free-swinging veteran could be a drag on batting average, but he could also notch 20-plus homers if he is able to hold the left field job all season.

Richard Bleier Headshot

Bleier was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

The Orioles acquired Bleier from the Yankees in the offseason for cash considerations after the 29-year-old accumulated an impressive 1.96 ERA across 23 innings in New York last season. The southpaw was competing for a bullpen spot this spring, but it appears Baltimore ultimately went with Vidal Nuno as its third left-hander.

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Headshot

Kidd-Gilchrist (ankle) will play in Wednesday's game against the Magic.

Kidd-Gilchrist was listed a probable headed into Wednesday's contest, so his availability does not come as a surprise, and he should be in line for a regular workload in Orlando. His limitations offensively, however, continue to put a limit on his overall fantasy value, despite Kidd-Gilchrist playing around 30 minutes per game this season.

Jered Weaver Headshot

Weaver said he's "dealing with a little dead arm," but doesn't expect it to impact his status for the opening series, A.J. Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Weaver has apparently had the same issue multiple times before, so it doesn't seem like it's anything overly serious. Assuming it's the same issue he's dealt with in the past, it doesn't appear that he's in jeopardy of missing his first start of the season, but it's something we'll monitor.
5:43 pm (EST)
Cameron Payne Headshot

Payne was recalled Wednesday from the D-League's Windy City Bulls, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Payne was assigned to the D-League in order to rehab a sore foot, and after recording 22 points, six rebounds and six assists in his one game with Windy City, it looks as if the point guard is ready to make his return to the Bulls' rotation. Should he be cleared to play right away Wednesday, look for him to retake his spot as the team's No. 2 point guard behind Rajon Rondo, which would likely push Michael Carter-Williams back out of the rotation.
5:43 pm (EST)
Nikolay Goldobin Headshot

Goldobin (illness) will play Thursday against the Blues.

Goldobin, who last suited up March 7, has one goal in five NHL games this season, but the 2014 first-rounder did display some offensive spark in the minors earlier in the campaign, while racking up 41 points in 46 games for the AHL's San Jose Barracuda.
5:36 pm (EST)
Sam Tuivailala Headshot

Tuivailala was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Tuivailala looked solid for the most of spring, tossing 6 scoreless innings in five appearances. However, it was his outing against the Marlins -- where he was hammered for four runs in 0.2 innings -- that likely did him in. He'll start the season off at Triple-A Memphis and will offer bullpen depth when needed.
