The Tennessee Titans have elected to decline the fifth-year option for OG Chance Warmack.

After Pro Football Focus rated Womack the 40th best guard out of 81 qualified guards in 2015, the Titans took note and declined the option. They would have been on the hook for $11.9 million in 2017. They haven't shut the door on a long term extension with the former first-round pick, but it will have to come at much more team-friendly contract.

Ned Yost said Luke Hochevar's elbow is feeling better. He'll play catch this afternoon, and will probably be available Monday night.

He wasn't available on Sunday night due to the elbow tightness but it's not sounding like a serious issue. If all goes well with the catch session, he could be used out of the pen against the Nats in the series opener. He has been very good again this season for Kansas City and this elbow should be behind him very quickly.

Devin Mesoraco is awaiting a full internal discussion about his left shoulder. He could land on the disabled list.

Mesoraco is out of the lineup again on Monday and hasn't been in the lineup since Wednesday of last week with the sore shoulder. Initially Cincinnati was believing that he wouldn't need a stint on the DL but now that might not be out of the question. If he does land on the DL it will allow the Reds to get another bench bat or bullpen arm not the roster instead of just playing a man down for the last several days. More updates will follow but at the moment he is still not on the DL officially.

Braves designated Drew Stubbs for assignment.

This is a somewhat surprising move from Atlanta given that he has been somewhat productive hitting .237/.310/.316 in 42 at bats and his ability to play all three outfield spots. He should draw interest from several teams who could use outfield depth in the place of injuries. If he doesn't get moved to another team, he will likely be outrighted to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Chris Withrow was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Withrow has been solid enough out of the pen for Atlanta this season but they need some bench depth in terms of hitting and thus have sent him down the road to Gwinnett. He should be back up soon once another roster spot opens up or a move needs to be made.

John Gant was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

A north of seven ERA is not good enough in a major league bullpen and thus the reason he has been up and down between Gwinnett and Atlanta this season. Gant should be back up again but is has no relevance in any format.

Broncos decline to exercise fifth year option on Slyvester Williams.

Williams did start 15 games for the Broncos last season with 25 tackles in those starts. His 2017 option would have cost better than $6.75 million for his fifth year which is a little steep for his playing level right now. He will have 2016 to prove that he deserves that money and should stay with the Broncos but right now Denver doesn't want to guarantee anything.

Jace Peterson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett.

The young middle infielder has struggled mightily from the plate this season hitting just .182 in 50 plate appearances. He will get to play everyday at Triple-A and will try and find his bat again. Daniel Castro will continue getting the starts at second for Atlanta at this point.

Russell martin is not in the Blue Jays starting lineup Monday.

Martin is not yet ready to play in back-to-back games as he is still dealing with the neck stiffness that he's been dealing with for about a week. Josh Thole will get the start behind the plate instead of Martin but he should be back on Tuesday.

Yu Darvish will throw 45-pitches in a rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Friday.

Darvish looked good in his first rehab start on Sunday, though it was only a two-inning outing. He throw 32 pitches, 18 for strikes, and struck out two in his time on the mound. Upping it to 45-pitches makes sense for the jump between starts. He is still about a month away from rejoining the Texas rotation but if his velocity and breaking stuff remains as good as it was on Sunday, he should be just fine when he comes back.
