The Orioles need a starter on the bump. With Dylan Bundy currently resting his arm in the hopes that he will be able to avoid going under the knife, they will apparently turn to their other phenom on the hill, Kevin Gausman, Thursday. What should you be thinking about when considering whether Gausman is worth adding to you staff? The Orioles, Rays, Rockies and Nationals are dealing with some issues in their bullpens (I didn't even have the time to discuss the rocky situation that the Dodgers are currently trying to sort out with Kenley Jansen and Brandon League). What will those teams do moving forward in the 9th inning? Up the middle the Rays have a guy who is trending up while the Athletics have a guy that's heading south. We'll discuss.
The season is not even two weeks old and already injuries are wreaking havoc on fantasy baseball teams everywhere. Sorry for such a brief introduction, but I sprained by left middle knuckle typing that last sentence. The doctors say I am day to day, but chances are I will need to book an appointment with Dr. James Andrews. So without further adieu, here is the next edition of the walking wounded.
The calendar changes again as we enter June and fantasy baseball is in full swing. It is prospect season now as many of the minors' best will be discussed in front offices as teams decide whether or not to bring their players up. You will likely see many over the next week or so, including Brett Lawrie even though he is resting a few days after being hit on the hand. You will likely really have to make some tough choices with these kids coming up as you can't have all of them so you have to hedge your bets on which one or two might be able to help your team. But there is plenty of other news and games happening each and every day so never miss a night of Rounding The Bases.
It was a huge schedule on Wednesday as there were 17 games in total with doubleheaders included, and there is a ton to talk about. We have a elite player who takes a leave, one of the best back on the field, and a couple of younger hitters who won't be on it for a little while. We have one of the hotter prospects in baseball headed back to the farm, and a disappointing closer who seems to have found his groove. There is all of that news and so much more as we take you around the box scores and give you every piece of fantasy relevant happenings and how it should affect your team.
