Due to my own personal time constraints, we’re going to change up the format for today and just touch on a few highlights. At some point I’ll figure out what day of the week is best to take a breather, but given some of the events occurring on Saturday, I deemed it necessary to discuss a few situations to which fantasy owners should pay strict attention. We can skip the top performers and their unsavory counterparts for the day though and get right to the juicy stuff.
Why is this man to the left laughing? Good question. No one this side of weather forecasters are doing their job worse than him and still collecting a paycheck. But tonight's article is not just to pound on poor Baldy, he can't help that he was overhyped this year. Speaking of overhyped we have a guy on the South Side of Chicago showing a pulse, and the top closer going into this season on the shelf. We have two Yankees in tonight's piece, one that is pitching his way into the rotation, the other that is playing his way into being traded. I give another rookie thank you tonight for his fine first year and so much more in Sunday's rendition of Rounding The Bases.
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor, could you be mine, would you be mine? Hmmmm, why am I singing the Mr. Rogers theme (he was a creepy old guy we used to watch on TV for those of you under 30) to start the Rounding The Bases segment tonight? Well, we at Fantasy Alarm like to think that we are a nice, cozy, comfortable place to get your fantasy sports news. Like what happened in Stephen Strasburg's latest rehab start, or what's wrong with Brian Wilson, David Ortiz, and Josh Hamilton? Let me tell you the story of the news that you need to know from this Wednesday in tonight's edition of Rounding The Bases!
It is hard to think of a guy who has had a better day than Ben Zobrist and I will tell you what you should do following this monumental performance. A closer by the bay looks like he might be getting it straight, and speedster in Texas takes off. We have one young pitcher who continues to deal, while another one wins but isn't as impressive. An injury prone superstar keeps it going, while a young hot corner player might be starting a hot streak. It was a shortened schedule on Thursday, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything important so be sure you check out Rounding The Bases.
Dude, let's go get an appendectomy! Yeah, that's right you heard me, all the guys in the major leagues are doing it, it is all the rage! It's just a few puncture wounds and bam, in a week you are back in business. That might sound ridiculous, but we have another slugger whose abdomen will keep them out, as well as a pitcher whose fingernail lands him on the DL. On a positive note, one of the best closers in baseball is coming back from injury, and we talk about a handful of guys who continue to bang the baseball around. Finally there is some news on some starting pitchers, some with mixed results and a former Cy Young winner who DOMINATED.
The first weekend of the regular season is upon us and players are still just getting their feet wet. We have a bunch of pitchers with high expectations getting off to slow starts, and a few under the radar guys who looked like world beaters. There is some injury news tonight about one of the top pitchers, the top closers, and one of the top young hitters in baseball.
