We spend a lot of time in fantasy baseball talking about who to draft in the first two or three rounds that we often times don't focus enough on the positional battles that teams are going through during Spring Training. Does the second base decision with the Blue Jays impact a guy like Emilio Bonifacio who has such huge upside given his wheels? What about the Cardinals second and shortstop decisions – do they matter? Of course you are going to care about what the Angels do in the 9th inning, but maybe what the injury ravaged Yankees do in the outfield should also be something you concern yourself with? We'll discuss those battles and more in this piece.
A wonderful holiday weekend to you all and another week of the fantasy baseball season is in the books and we are now just one week away from the unofficial mid-point of the season. The All-Star rosters were announced today, and I am interested in hearing your thoughts on the subject at firstname.lastname@example.org. A few quick ones of mine....Brandon League? Really? How is Andrew McCutchen not on the National League squad and for that matter, how is C.C. Sabathia not a pitcher for the American League? Can you tell me how they picked the NL's Last Man In Vote? Was it random? Names out of a hat? Dart board? Todd Helton? Are we all high? Enough of my ramblings, but feel free to shoot me an email, but until then enjoy tonight's news in Rounding The Bases.
We are (unfortunately) back from the FSTA Summer Tech Conference in San Francisco, California and it is time to get back to the daily work. Fantasy baseball didn't stop while we were away, and there is plenty of news to get to. Another one of baseball's top young players will find his way to the big leagues this weekend, so you better check that out. A hot young pitcher is going to miss a start, and one of the hottest waiver wire pickups this year is also injured. The game's greatest player gets extra eligibility today, and of course we have random observations from tonight's games. Don't miss the pitching streamer to finish it off in tonight's Rounding The Bases.
It is another exciting Monday in fantasy baseball, and I know a lot of you are thinking that Monday and excitement shouldn't be in the same sentence, but believe me every day is exciting during baseball season. With the beginning of June comes the wave of prospects being called to the majors, and we got another good one called to the Big Show today that is especially exciting if you need speed. We had one elite player finally go on the DL, and an above average pitcher going to get his elbow checked out. Finally, a hard luck loser finally gets his win. That and so much more on tonight's version of Rounding The Bases.
It is the end of another week of the fantasy baseball season and boy is there a lot of news today! We have one closer who is finally back active and pitching for his team, while another looks like he totally doesn't belong in the ninth inning anymore. We have a shortstop returning from injury, and a third baseman that I have a personal crusade against and will tell you not to bother with him. Not only that but we have a ton of pitching to talk about as always, some good, some not so much. So crack a cold one on this Memorial Day Sunday because hell, you don't have to work tomorrow!
