It was a news-filled Friday in fantasy baseball as things are happening all over. There is some brand new injury news, a rookie's first home run, and of course Stephen Strasburg pitched again which is always exciting. We have some hot pitchers, and a few that you might want to cut bait on. Another weekend is upon us and you can never get enough Rounding The Bases.
Are we really nearly halfway through another week in fantasy baseball. Tonight's news revolves around a fantasy ace straightening things out, a rookie who has hit a rough patch, and a couple of veterans who have plenty still to prove. We have one great rookie who hit his first home run among other things in tonight's version of Rounding The Bases.
After one night off due to the slow schedule, it is time for Fighting Chance Fantasy to get back on the ball to deliver all the fantasy news. The big story on Thursday looks like the inevitable news that one of the best young players in the minors is ready to prove his wears in the majors. There is also news on a struggling hitter and a few pitchers making their mark this season in Rounding The Bases.
It seems that we are destined to write about Stephen Strasburg every time he takes the mound. But I promise that Rounding The Bases won't turn into just Strasburg updates. There's also news on some big time hitters and pitchers, a returning injured catcher, and a pitcher on the road back from Tommy John. So much more is also inside so be sure you read all of Rounding The Bases.
Have you been playing fantasy baseball long enough to remember when Delmon Young was supposed to be the next big thing? How about when he threw his bat at the umpire? Well, it is looking more and more like he is just a mild bust now and not a complete bust. There is also plenty of news on hitters that have gotten hot, and some pitchers that are definitely not. The last day of the week is upon us, make those last second moves to give you the weekly win.
Another day, another big time prospect comes to the majors. Today it is Carlos Santana of the Cleveland Indians who was perhaps the best hitting prospect left down on the farm. I want start gushing too much about him, you will have to read the article to see the rest. There is some injury news on one of the best players in the game, and also some of the more interesting pitchers of the night.
The prospects keep coming up to the majors as two more young studs will find their way to the majors this week, as one made his debut tonight. We celebrate a rookie's first long ball, and talk about how long another can keep hitting at his current pace. There is talk of a couple of veterans who seem to be turning things around, and of course notes on some of Wednesday's starting pitchers. Is there anything better than Rounding The Bases?
There is a lot of talk tonight about the Orioles? Wait, the Orioles? Yes, that's right the Orioles. From a starter to the back of their bullpen and one of their young hitters, the team in Baltimore is making some fantasy waves. There is still plenty of talk about starting pitchers from Thursday night including some speculation of when another top prospect might make it to the majors. There is no shortage of news on any night in Rounding The Bases.
Well, what can I say about Stephen Strasburg? He obviously lived up to the hype in his first start as he completely DOMINATED the Pirates as he struck out 14 batters over seven innings and allowed just two runs. Now I have been a Strasburg supported for most of the season, but we have to remember that this was just one start and it was against the Pirates, so let's not go drinking the Kool-Aid 100% just yet. I do like him a lot, but please don't expect him to be this kind of dominating every time he takes the mound. It is possible, but not probable so keep your expectations somewhat in check. Please don't go doing something crazy like trade Tim Lincecum for him. In fact I would not try to trade for him right now as his owner will want the absolute moon for him.
Tonight's version of Rounding The Bases is all about starting pitching. There wasn't a full slate of games on Monday, so this isn't the usual size article. There is talk about guys doing better than they should, and some worse than they should and then there are some that are turning things around. Oh, and don't forget that Steven Strasburg pitches tomorrow! It seems that something new is happening every night which is why you have to check out Rounding The Bases.
