Yasmani Grandal Headshot

Grandal was slotted fourth in the lineup Monday, going 0-for-4 in a 2-1 loss to the Giants.

In a surprising move, manager Dave Roberts slotted his catcher ahead of Adrian Gonzalez in the batting order. Grandal had gone 1-for-6 against Matt Cain prior to Monday's game, so the move doesn't appear to be a matchup play. The 28-year-old's .442 slugging percentage (over 100 points higher than Gonzalez's) may have something to do with the lineup shift. We will have to see if this lineup shift sticks past Monday, as it would be a boon to Grandal's fantasy value.

Abraham Almonte Headshot

Almonte is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

With the left-handed Dallas Keuchel taking the mound for Houston, Almonte will head to the bench. Brandon Guyer will get the nod to start in right field while Almonte heads to the bench.

Jon Jay Headshot

Jay is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates.

Despite going 3-for-7 in his last four games, Jay will head to the bench in favor of Albert Almora. The two should continue to split time, though Jay remains the less intriguing fantasy option.

Lonnie Chisenhall Headshot

Chisenhall is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Astros.

Per the usual trend, Chisenhall will head to the bench for a day off with southpaw Dallas Keuchel taking the hill for Houston. Austin Jackson will take over in center field in his stead.

Jean Segura Headshot

Segura (hamstring) was activated from the DL on Tuesday, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners had intended to activate Segura on Tuesday, and those plans have come to fruition. Segura didn't have his best showing during his rehab assignment at Double-A Arkansas, as he went just 1-for-11 over three games. Now that he's healthy, he'll look to continue his strong start to the season, as he was hitting .313/.353/.406 prior to landing on the disabled list.

Ian Mahinmi Headshot

Mahinmi (calf) is expected to return during the first-round series against the Hawks but has yet to practice, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.

The backup center is ahead of schedule in his recovery from strained calf but has to pass certain physical challenges before returning to the rotation. His absence from practice thus far makes a comeback for Wednesday's Game 5 seem skeptical, but look for official updates to come after Wednesday morning shootaround. Should he be ruled out, expect Jason Smith to continue backing up starter Marcin Gortat.

Anthony Stolarz Headshot

Stolarz underwent surgery to repair the torn MCL in his right knee Tuesday, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

We now have a little more clarity on the type of injury that was plaguing Stolarz near the end of the campaign and it remains to be seen if the operation will change the timetable for his return. Knee surgeries often come with lofty recovery times, but if the 23-year-old rehabs well, there's no reason to think he can't be ready once the Flyers' training camp opens in the fall.
2:22 pm (EST)
Javier Báez Headshot

Baez is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates.

Baez is just 2-for-12 on the Cubs' road trip and 0-for-8 over his last two games, so he'll get a breather as Ben Zobrist returns to second base.
2:15 pm (EST)
Kiké Hernández Headshot

Hernandez started in center Monday, batting eighth and going 1-for-3 in a loss to the Giants.

Hernandez -- who normally starts primarily against lefties -- got a start in place of the injured Joc Pederson (groin) against a right-hander. It appears that the 25-year-old will receive a short stint of regular playing time while Pederson heals on the disabled list. Even with a regular role, Hernandez's career .233 batting average against righties limits his value to deep and NL-only formats.
