Fantasy Player Updates & News  PLAY $5M NFL Sunday Million!

Panthers coach Ron Rivera says Cam Newton is still on pace to play Sunday, but the Panthers will make the final decision until game day.

While Rivera seems to be hedging here, it seems highly unlikely that Newton will miss this week's game. His movement may be a little limited and he may wear a flak jacket to protect the ribs, but even Newton at 80-percent is better than Derek Anderson or Joe Webb at 100-percent. Expect to see Newton on the field for Week 1.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Sean Nolin will start for the Athletics on Sunday.

Nolin was battling a groin injury and was forced to sit out a couple of weeks down in Triple-A. The A's have decided to call him up and join the team Sunday to make the spot start. He will likely finish the year in the big leagues.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin

Carl Crawford or Scott Van Slyke will get the start in his place tonight.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin

Wil Myers has returned to the Padres lineup on Friday.

Myers has faced an injury plagued 2015 season but has returned to the lineup for the Padres on Friday. In 35 games to this point, Myers is hitting .277 with five home runs and 19 RBI.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin

Karlos Williams says he expects to play Week 1.

With the uncertainty surrounding the injury to McCoy, Williams may be the next man up to start for the Bills come Week 1. With or without a healthy McCoy, Williams will still see the field starting the year.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin

Angels 2B Johnny Giavotella has been suffering from fourth nerve palsy.

Giavotella has been out since late August with the nerve condition and the Angels are unsure if he will be able to return this year. Dante Rosario has been released by the Bears.

Rosario did not play a big role in the preseason for the Bears and in turn has been released. He played in all 16 games for the Bears last season but only accumulated 116 yards. He will likely get some looks from other teams but is not a shoe in to be playing come the regular season.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin

Kyle Brindza has won the Buccaneers kicking job.

Brindza has impressed this preseason for the Bucs and has won the starting job over last year's kicker Patrick Murray. Murray missed two field goals last game and that was likely the final straw for him.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin

If he can find his game when playing for the Lakers two years back he will be an asset for this 76ers team.  Analysis: Dillon Conklin
