Miguel Cabrera has left Saturday's game with an ankle injury.

Miggy was clearly in pain as he left the batter's box, and manager Brad Asmus quickly lifted him from the game. Nick Castellanos took over at third, with Don Kelly moving from the hot corner to replace Cabrera at first. Cabrera has not been hitting like a triple crown winner this season, and may now have to take some time off to get healthy. ANALYST: Ivar G. Anderson

Braves recalled Williams Perez from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Perez got recalled to start tomorrow in place of recently-traded Alex Wood. Perez is a solid option in most leagues, as he owns a 4-0 record with a 2.88 ERA and 38 strikeouts over 50 innings this year, although he has a high BB total (23). In his last start on June 26 against the Pirates, he allowed two runs on four hits in a no-decision. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Bills have placed Dan Carpenter, Leodis McKelvin, Mario Williams on active/non-football injury list to start camp.

Williams is the big name on this list, and he is part of the trio that will be out indefinitely, although it's speculated that the injuries are not serious. Head coach Rex Ryan will elaborate on the extent of the injuries after practice Friday morning. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Falcons place LT Lamar Holems (broken right foot) on the physically unable to perform list.

Holms will miss all of training camp and odds are heavily in favor of him being sidelined for the entire season, although there is no official timetable for his return. Holmes was expected to compete for a starting left tackle position. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Jonathan Aro has been recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket.

This is a corresponding move after the club DFA'd Daniel Nava. Aro will be around to provide bullpen depth for the Sox. But beyond that, he holds no value--he has only appeared in three games, giving up six runs in 4 2/3 innings. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Daniel Nava has been designated for assignment.

Nava got his shot but he hasn't performed and it looks like the Sox are done trying. He is hitting .152 this year in 66 at-bats, and Boston already has a crowded outfield, even with Mookie Betts getting sidelined with a concussion.  Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Broncos are not signing Jake Long at this time after visiting with him Thursday.

Long is coming off his second ACL surgery, so he has a big red flag hovering over him for any team that might be interested in him. The former No. 1 overall pick is desperately looking for a deal, but whatever deal he lands won't land him anything more than a year or two, and probably no guaranteed money. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Matt Boyd has been optioned to Triple-A Toledo.

Boyd was another big piece of the David Price trade, and he will be pitching in Toledo until September, where he will get a call up if the Tigers are anywhere close to a playoff appearance. Boyd has a 9-2 record with a 1.68 ERA and 107 strikeouts between Double-A and Triple-A this season. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Pirates designated RHP Vance Worley for assignment.

The Pirates needed the roster spot after acquiring Joe Blanton yesterday. Worley will probably end up back with the team in September. He owns a 3.78 ERA with 47 strikeouts this summer. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Daniel Norris will start for the Tigers on Sunday.

Norris was one of the main pieces in the David Price trade, and he will be getting the call sooner than later. The 22-year-old owns a 3.86 ERA with an 18:12 K/BB ratio this year. He will be facing the Royals for the first time in his young career on Sunday. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Ben Zobrist is batting sixth in his Royals debut.

Zobrist should provide a big boost to a Royals offense that is missing Alex Gordon. The switch-hitting Zobrist will be facing off for the first time against Marco Estrada--whom lefties are only hitting .217 off of this summer. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Leonard Williams is working with the first team in Thursday's practice.

The Jets are expecting a big contribution from their first round pick this year. Williams was one of the most talented players in this year's draft class and should be able help out an already-great defense right away. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Reds recalled Keyvius Sampson from Triple-A Louisville.

Sampson will provide bullpen depth with Nate Adcock heading to the DL. Other than depth, Sampson won't have much more of a contribution, his Triple-A numbers aren't anything to boast about. Analysis: Zack Carpenter

Reds option C Kyle Skipworth to Double-A Pensacola.

The club recalled Keyvius Sampson to provide bullpen depth with Nate Adcock heading to the DL. Skipworth is the odd man out since the Reds already have enough catchers on the roster. Analysis: Zack Carpenter
