Craig Kimbrel allowed one hit in a scoreless inning of relief to earn his 40th save of the season Friday as the Braves beat the Marlins 5-2.
Is there any doubt that with Mariano Rivera retired that Kimbrel is the best closer in baseball right now? Maybe Greg Holland gives him a little run for his money, but Kimbrel just locked down his fourth-straight season with at least 40 saves and has once again maintained an outstanding strikeout rate (14.26 K/9).ANALYST: Howard Bender
Chris Paul and Austin Rivers both practiced Monday and could play Tuesday.
Assuming everything goes well Tuesday, neither injury should be an issue going forward. Unlike last season, the Clippers finally have a competent point guard behind Paul and Rivers in Pablo Prigioni. Prigioni had 13 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists in 30 minutes in Sunday's preseason game against the Hornets, and he would be a viable fantasy play if Paul and Rivers go down with injuries.
