Alex Gordon went 2-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and a pair of runs scored in Thursday's 11-5 loss to the Twins.
Gordon homered for the fourth time in his last eight games on Thursday night, giving him 17 homers and 61 RBI through 468 at-bats on the year. Although his production started off slow in the first half, Gordon has shown the ability to turn it on down the stretch, blasting eight home runs in the month of August. He remains a must-start in all formats until he cools off. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Alex Gordon (wrist) has been cleared to hit off a tee at Royals camp.
Gordon was playing catch earlier in the week and has finally received clearance to hit off a tee. His surgery was deemed a success and the Royals believe that Gordon will be ready to go by Opening Day. While you can't expect him to be able to hit 20 home runs, he can certainly make enough adjustments to hit for a higher average. Gordon should be treated as a decent No. 3 outfielder. Aramis Ramirez confirmed that 2015 will be his final season.
Ramirez will turn 37 in June in what will be his 18th major league season. He was a legitimate 30-home run threat during the prime of his career, but now here we are 10 years past that prime and he's more of a 15-home run threat these days. Injuries were a big part of his decline and he's missed an awful lot of games over the years, but considering how bad the third base position looks this year, one last go-around with A-Ram might not be the worst thing in the world. Just make sure you have a viable back-up option. Analysis: Howard Bender
