Manager Joe Girardi said Wednesday night's lineup is subject to change pending on how Brett Gardner comes through batting practice.

The Yankees have Gardner penciled in at left field for Wednesday's game but he's been battling an ankle injury for the last few days, so if he suffers a setback during batting practice, he's not going to be able to go.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Mets manager Terry Collins said he plans to rest Michael Cuddyer one game this weekend.

Collins hasn't specified which game yet so be sure to check our lineups page for details. Cuddyer has slightly better numbers against Sunday's starter, Tom Koehler, so be careful that he might sit today. Analysis: Howard Bender

Mookie Betts is not in the Red Sox starting lineup on Saturday.

Just a routine day off for the youngster who's been having himself a great start to the season. He's only hitting .209 right now, but he is hitting regularly, having hit safely in all but two games this season. The multi-hit performances will come so don;t sweat the average at this point in time. Brock Holt will fill in for him Saturday.  Analysis: Howard Bender

Tyler Hansbrough will start for the Raptors on Saturday.

As expected, Hansbrough gets the nod and Amir Johnson will come off the bench. It's been working for the team so far, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Johnson will still see a significant number of minutes. Analysis: Howard Bender

Yunel Escobar (groin) reported that he felt pretty good this morning when he arrived, but will receive an MRI on Saturday.

Escobar will likely sit out Saturday's game and the results of his MRI will determine whether he is day-to-day or if a DL stint is needed. Stay tuned for the results and expect to see some mix of Danny Espinosa, Dan Uggla and Emanuel Burriss at second and third. Analysis: Howard Bender

The Angels and Josh Hamilton have been in talks aimed at resolving their dispute, including trades, but nothing is close.

There is language in Hamilton's contract regarding his physical and mental state if the presence of drugs or alcohol were involved that would allow the team to terminate or convert the deal. Obviously Hamilton's camp is refuting the interpretation and the two sides have been going back and forth since the event occurred. Nothing on this front yet as it's doubtful anyone would trade for him before actually seeing him play some. Analysis: Howard Bender

Casey Fien will be available out of the Twins bullpen on Saturday.

With Glen Perkins having thrown three-straight days, the Twins may opt to use Fien for a save situation if it occurs. He pitched Wednesday and Thursday but was off Friday so he should be more than well-rested. Analysis: Howard Bender

Glen Perkins will likely have the day off on Saturday, but it will depend on the situation.

Perkins has thrown three-straight days now and could use the rest. There's still a chance he could go again, but the Twins might prefer to let Casey Fien or J.R. Graham close, if possible. Analysis: Howard Bender

Jayson Werth said that his shoulder feels good and Saturday was a scheduled day off.

Just as we suspected. A regular day off and no issues. Continue to use him regularly. The power will eventually come. Analysis: Howard Bender

Joakim Noah (hamstring) will have no restrictions on his minutes Saturday night.

The Bulls have limited Noah over the final two weeks of the season when the hamstring issue was new and also held him out for the last two as they approached the playoffs. He should be good to go Saturday. Analysis: Howard Bender

Kirk Hinrich (left knee) will not play Saturday.

Hinrich missed practice again Friday and has been dealing with some swelling in the knee. The Bulls will sit him now in the hopes of having him more long-term through the playoffs. Analysis: Howard Bender

Indians optioned Austin Adams to Triple-A Columbus.

With the arrival of Danny Salazar, someone had to be sacrificed. Adams should be back at some point when the team needs a fresh arm for the bullpen. Analysis: Howard Bender

The Indians recalled Danny Salazar from Triple-A Columbus Saturday.

The expected move was announced Thursday after the Tribe felt they needed to push Carlos Carrasco (head/jaw) back to Monday. Salazar was dominant in his one Triple-A start, and as Fantasy Alarm's Brad Costilo noted earlier in the week, Salazar was very solid in his final 12 starts [of 2014], limiting opposing hitters to a .255 average/.668 OPS while striking out 1/4 of the batters he faced. Analysis: Howard Bender

Trevor Plouffe is not in the twins starting Lineup Saturday.

Plouffe is 1-for-11 against Danny Salazar so he'll just get the day off. Eduardo Nunez will start at third and Plouffe will be available off the bench. Analysis: Howard Bender

Alex Avila is not in the Tigers starting lineup Saturday.

It's a day of rest for Avila but more of an opportunity to go with a lineup made up entirely of right-handed hitters. James McCann gets the nod Saturday. Analysis: Howard Bender
