Ryan Braun left the game against the Padres on Monday with a bruised quad but not before going 3-for-4 with a home run, one RBI and two runs scored. The team does not consider the injury to be serious and Braun should be considered day to day.
Braun was removed in the seventh inning of Monday night's game against the Padres due to a thigh contusion, but the injury is not considered serious at this time. With another multi-hit performance, Braun has now going 8-for-17 (.471 BA) with two home runs and three RBI over his last four games. Until we get a definitive answer on Braun's availability, consider him day-to-day moving forward. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Astros purchased the contract of Preston Tucker from Triple-A Fresno
Tucker will be called up in lieu of the Astros placing George Springer on the disabled list. Tucker has been mashing in Triple-A Fresno, to the tune of a .320 average with 10 home runs. Tucker could see some time in the outfield, or the Astros could elect to let Evan Gattis play some left field. However, with Gattis' poor defensive play, it would be more than likely that Gattis will remain in the DH spot. Analysis: Colby Conway
Astros placed George Springer (head) on the 7-day disabled list.
Springer crashed into the outfield wall on Tuesday and he has been evaluated for a concussion. Preston Tucker was called up on Wednesday, indicating that he will likely spend some time on the DL. While the batting average isn't where owners want it to be, it's hard to complain when he already has four homers and 10 stolen bases on the season. Analysis: Colby Conway
