Jonathan Papelbon pitched a perfect inning to earn his 31st save of the season in the Phillies 5-4 victory over the Cardinals Friday.
Papelbon has been killing it lately. He's got six saves in eight scoreless appearances here in August and hasn't allowed a run since July 23, a span of 12 appearances (12 innings), and has a 12:2 K:BB over that span. Fantasy owners literally have nothing to complain about with him as their closer. Nothing. ANALYST: Howard Bender
Cecil Shorts might be ready to play against Jacksonville in Week 6.
Both Shorts and Nate Washington missed Thursday's game, making way for Jaelen Strong and Keith Mumphery. While strong caught two TDs, Mumphery was a non-factor. Strong earned himself more playing time in the coming weeks, possibly coming at Shorts' expense, though it could come at Washington's as coach Bill O'Brien said that Shorts had a better chance of playing against Jacksonville than Washington does.
