Nelson Cruz went 1-for-4 and belted a solo home run, his 34th of the season, against the Cubs on Friday.
Cruz was in a bit of a slump, batting just .219 in August, but has broken out in a big way the last couple of days, hitting three homers over his last four games. Cruz will remain a huge help in the power department for fantasy owners, and may actually see an average increase from his current .258, as it has been dragged down by a poor .263 BABIP. Zach Miller caught two passes on seven targets for 10 yards and a TD on Thursday night vs Green Bay.
Miller got the start in place of the injured Martellus Bennett on Thursday night. In all, he finished with two catches and a touchdown on seven targets, looking mediocre, however doing his best with the hand he was dealt. Anyone who started him in daily leagues could have expected better, however it is a bit spoiled to come away with much more than a TD as a definite backup. Consider him a wise play on Thursday night, and a keen start going forward at least until Bennett comes back healthy. Analysis: Dom Murtha
