Johnny Manziel still might take some snaps in Week One against the Steelers. Browns coach Mike Pettine told Ross Tucker on SiriusXM NFL Radio that a Manziel package is on the table. We could potentially look at a two-quarterback system down the road, Pettine said.
Oh jeez. Here we go. A day ago there was no specific package set up for Manziel and now, likely because or moronic public backlash from idiots who don't understand the difficulty in becoming a legit NFL quarterback, Pettine is back-pedaling and talking about giving Manziel early work. That couldn't be a worse plan. Brian Hoyer is perfectly capable of captaining this ship and Pettine needs to sac-up and stand by his decision. Manziel is not ready and everyone knows it. Pettine is making a major mistake here as he gets his coaching feet wet.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Paul Millsap does not need surgery on his shoulder, just rest.
After the Hawks were eliminated from the NBA Playoffs, it was reported he could need surgery on his sprained right shoulder. Millsap will head into the offseason as a free agent and he is reportedly undecided about how he will conduct his summer. He didn't play well in the playoffs, although it's tough to know how much the shoulder affected his play. Analysis: Spencer Silva
Blue Jays optioned RHP Scott Copeland to Triple-A Buffalo.
Copeland didn't pitch during his short stint back with the club, but recorded three scoreless innings in a previous stint earlier this month. At 27, he's not much of a prospect in spite of having strong success in the International League in 2015. He could eventually establish himself as a swingman for the Jays in the near future.
