Madison Bumgarner gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk with 12 strikeouts against the Cubs on Thursday.

Bumgarner has now thrown four-straight strong, quality starts. He's allowed just seven earned runs in his last 31 innings (four starts) which is a 2.03 ERA and he's done it with a ridiculous 36:2 K:BB. This is the Bumgarner we thought we'd see all year long, but a number of bumps in the road sort of derailed those plans. Still, his 3.17 ERA is outstanding for fantasy purposes and who doesn't love 179 strikeouts in 176 innings? The Rockies come to town for his next start, so expect more of the same.ANALYST: Howard Bender
