According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Kevin Love will be traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a three-team deal with the Philadelphia 76ers. The trade would send Cleveland's Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett, Philadelphia's Thaddeus Young and a trade exception believed to be worth at least $4 million that they can use to acquire a player in the next year without being strapped by salary-cap rules to Minnesota while the Sixers would receive Miami’s 2015 first-round pick that the Cavaliers own as well as the expiring contracts of Wolves players Luc Mbah a Moute and Alexey Shved.
KA-BLAAAAM! Now THAT'S a deal. Even the Sixers make out well here turning Young into a first-rounder.The deal won't be announced until Saturday, but apparently all of this was agreed upon on Thursday.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Lions will not use the franchise tag on DT Ndamukong Suh.
There has been a lot of back-and-forth internally as to whether the Lions want to bring Suh back and obviously cost is a major issue as he will command quite the hefty salary on the open market. But they won't use the franchise tag here as they know the bitterness it will cause between player and team. Look for the Lions to make the defensive lineman a competitive offer but they won't break the bank to keep him. Analysis: Howard Bender
Le'Veon Bell could face up to a suspension of four games.
According to the new substance-abuse policy, the DUI arrest requires a mandatory two-game suspension. The fact that there was also marijuana involved opens the door for, according to the policy, a suspension of "up to four games." Considering the way the NFL continues to handle things and the fact that Bell is now, after a dynamic rookie season, a new face of the NFL, look for it to just stay at two games.
