Daisuke Matsuzaka threw five shutout innings, striking out seven, allowing just two hits for Short-Season Class-A Brooklyn on Thursday.
Matsuzaka has been out of action since going down with an elbow injury back on Just 24, but continues to inch closer to making his return to the Mets pitching staff. Through 74.1 innings between the starting rotation and the bullpen, Dice-K is sitting on a 3.87 ER and 1.33 WHIP while owning a sub-par 71:44 K:BB rate. Depending on how the Mets plan on using him down the stretch will weigh in on his potential fantasy value, so for now just wait for news to be released from the team in the upcoming days.
