UPDATES & NEWS
Garrett Richards will undergo left knee surgery on Friday, Angels have announced.
Richards will be out 6-9 months following a knee injury suffered on Wednesday night, which has ended his season with a 12-4 record while maintaining a 2.61 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and a 164:51 K:BB rate over 168.2 innings. Barring any setbacks along the way, Richards is expected to be ready for the start of the 2015 season. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Update: Corey Dickerson was removed from Saturday's game with a left quad injury.
While the news regarding Dickerson's plantar fasciitis was positive, he was removed after he fouled a ball off his back leg and is now day-to-day with what the team is calling a quad injury. When his leg appeared to be swollen, manager Walt Weiss opted to play it safe and remove Dickerson who had gone 0-for-3 in Saturday's game against the Giants. Consider him day-to-day for right now and figure he'll be a game-time decision for Sunday. Analysis: Howard Bender
