Josh Hamilton went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI during the Angels' 2-0 win over the Red Sox on Thursday.

Hamilton is now 3-for-10 with two doubles and four RBI since returning to the starting lineup for the Angels after the team gave him a couple days off to clear his head. The Angles high-paid outfielder is slashing .222/.281/.361 with three home runs and 12 RBI over 108 at-bats since returning from the All-Star break as his struggles continue since moving to Hollywood. For now, fantasy owners should explore other options until he gets back on track. ANALYST: Matthew Beck

Coach Bill O'Brien said the goal is to get Jadeveon Clowney (knee) back on the field on August 17th and then go from there.

Clowney is being eased back into action right now with the knee issue and is limited to individual drills at this point. He's too valuable a commodity to be rushed, but at some point, we need to stop talking about his health and start talking about his work on the field. If we don;t get to that point, we'll simply have to tuck his name in with the rest of the first-round busts in history. Analysis: Howard Bender

Tanner Scheppers placed on the 15-day disabled list with left knee inflammation.

Whether this is a real issue or a phantom one, the Rangers needed to get Scheppers out of the bullpen after yet another meltdown. He will be shut down for a few days and the team will re-evaluate him then before determining a rehab program. Analysis: Howard Bender

Phil Klein has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.

Klein will take the roster spot vacated by Tanner Scheppers who landed on the DL with knee inflammation. Klein is not someone fantasy owners need to know. Analysis: Howard Bender

Seahawks have released starting DT Tony McDaniel.

McDaniel was due to make over $3 million this season, so he's a salary cap casualty here what with the recent contracts doled out to Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner. The veteran defensive tackle should have no trouble finding work. Analysis: Howard Bender

Mookie Betts (head) could resume baseball activities next weekend.

He's on the 7-day concussion DL so he's going to have to pass a series of tests before he can resume activities. Given the way concussions affect players differently, speculating a return timetable at this point is futile. You'll just have to wait and see.  Analysis: Howard Bender

Delino DeShields is not in the Rangers lineup on Sunday.

There are a lot of mouths to feed in the Texas outfield these days, so manager Jeff Banister will play the lefty/righty game here and opt for lefty Leonys Martin against right-hander Mike Leake. DeShields will be back in the lineup soon enough. Analysis: Howard Bender

Yadier Molina is not in the Cardinals lineup on Sunday.

Just a routine day off for Molina who has caught the last five-straight games. Tony Cruz will don the tools of ignorance for Sunday's game against the Rockies. Analysis: Howard Bender

Carlos Gonzalez is not in the Rockies lineup on Sunday.

With no injury reported, it has to be assumed that this is just a day of rest for the veteran who had been white-hot for the month of July. He is being replaced in the lineup by right-handed Kyle Parker who is batting fifth against lefty Jaime Garcia and costs just $2,200 on FanDuel Sunday. Analysis: Howard Bender

Rick Porcello (triceps) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Porcello is dealing with soreness and inflammation in his triceps and will hit the DL for at least the minimum time. He will be re-evaluated after a few days of no work and a determination will be made then. The early speculation is that Henry Owens will skip his Monday start at Triple-A Pawtucket to take Porcello's turn in the rotation on Tuesday. Analysis: Howard Bender

Manager Buck Showalter said Steve Pearce still seems a while away from resuming baseball activities, but will begin rehabbing Sunday.

Pearce is eligible to come off the DL Monday but the oblique is taking longer to heal than he expected. There is no set timetable for his return, so you'll just have to play a wait-and-see game here. Analysis: Howard Bender

Orioles announce Chris Tillman (ankle) will start Friday.

Tillman suffered an ankle injury during his last outing but it wasn;t enough to land him on the DL. He won't take his regular turn in the rotation Monday, but will be slotted in Friday after an extra week of rest. Analysis: Howard Bender

Ryan Pressly (lat) is moved to the 60-day disabled list.

This is just a clerical move to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for Tyler Duffey. Pressly's status hasn;t changed at all. You can still forget about him. Analysis: Howard Bender
