Manager Don Mattingly said Hanley Ramirez remains on track for activation from the disabled list on Sunday, his earliest day eligible to return.
Ramirez has been out of action since going down with an oblique injury on August 8, and in now expected to be back at shortstop for the Dodgers this weekend. Through 354 at-bats, Ramirez is slashing .277/.367/.455 with 12 home runs, 58 RBI and 12 stolen bases while hitting in the middle of the Dodgers lineup. Once back in the mix fantasy owners may want to wait a day or two before reinserting him into starting lineups. ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Kevin White has a shin injury and will start on the PUP list.
With this minor injury, White will be starting training camp on the sidelines to work up his cardio and get in better shape. It doesn't look like this injury will deter him from starting in Week 1, and it could give him some extra time to learn from the sidelines during camp. White is one of the most talented rookie receivers in the league, and if he lives up to his potential he could be in the running for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Analysis: Zack Carpenter
Blue Jays designated Felix Doubront for assignment.
This is a move to make room for Troy Tulowitzki, and Doubront was the obvious choice to go. The lefty only had one good start in his five outings with the big league club (all in July). Since that July 7 start, he's given up 13 runs on 23 hits. The last straw was last night's poor outing in which he gave up three runs and couldn't give anything more than four innings. Doubront will look to latch on with another club, but he won't be of much fantasy value wherever he winds up. Analysis: Zack Carpenter
