Clayton Kershaw will start on Wednesday against the Diamondbacks.
The Dodgers had an off day on Monday and could have elected to start Kershaw on normal rest Tuesday skipping Hernandez's spot in the rotation but Hernandez has pitched well and the Dodgers will use this opportunity to give Kershaw and extra day of rest between starts.ANALYST: Jonathan Impemba
Athletics reassign Luke Carlin, Max Muncy and Andy Parrino to minor league camp.
One of these things is not like the other. Muncy is a 23-year old prospect, while Carlin and Parrino are older journeymen. Muncy, a first baseman, his 21 home runs in 2013 at High-A in 428 plate appearances. But the power hasn't translated to Double-A yet as he hit just seven home runs in 530 plate appearances there last year. Muncy isn't really a prospect you have to know, but he's far more notable than Carlin and Parrino. Analysis: Brett Talley
Manager John Farrell has named Edward Mujica the closer to start the season.
This is a strange decision. Sure, Uehara struggled down the stretch last year, but his final numbers for 2014 were still great. He struck out more than 30 percent of batters faced and walked virtually no one. Mujica, on the other hand, has had a below average strikeout rate for three years running. Don't pay anything of consequence for Mujica, and Uehara is a guy to target if you have deep enough roster settings to hold on to him for a bit. Analysis: Brett Talley
