Angels acquired 2B Gordon Beckham from the White Sox for a player to be named later or cash.

On a day where their pitching depth took a major hit, the Angels shored up their middle infield depth with the addition of Beckham. The former hot-prospect, busted out with the Pale Hose in just his second year with them and he hasn't been able to recover since. Perhaps a change of scenery will help, but he'll be serving as the primary back-up infielder. How many at-bats he sees is not yet known.ANALYST: Howard Bender

Jaguars TE Clay Harbor is dealing with a calf strain.

Harbor started off the 2014 season relatively strong, but faded as the season went on. The veteran tight end will probably be part of Jacksonville's 53-man, but he won't see much playing time behind newly acquired Julius Thomas and Marcedes Lewis. Analysis: David Kerr

Blue Jays have recalled pitcher Bo Schultz from Triple-A Buffalo.

The Blue Jays needed another arm in their bullpen and Schultz has pitched very well at Triple-A Buffalo, posting a 1.69 ERA in 21 1/3 innings pitched. He figures to pitch in middle relief for Toronto. Analysis: David Kerr

Steven Souza (wrist) has advanced to taking low-speed pitches in the batting cage.

It's possible that Souza could return to Tampa Bay's lineup this weekend, but that will depend entirely on how his wrist feels. The rookie outfielder is batting just .223, though he does have seven home runs and seven steals. Analysis: David Kerr

Ali Marpet recently suffered a hamstring injury during organized team activities and was held out of practice Thursday.

Marpet will take a few days off before being reevaluated, but his injury isn't thought to be serious. The rookie offensive guard is the first player to ever be drafted from Division III school Hobart. He is an important part of Tampa Bay's future especially when it comes to protecting franchise quarterback Jameis Winston. Analysis: David Kerr

Allen Robinson (foot) expects to begin participating in individual drills next week.

Robinson suffered a stress fracture in his foot last year and is progressing quite nicely. He will be ready for individual drills next week and shouldn't be limited going forward. The second year wideout figures to be a focal point in Jacksonville's offense this season. Analysis: David Kerr

Matt Harrison (back) threw 77 pitches in an extended spring training game Thursday. He will throw a bullpen session in Arlington on Sunday and could start a rehab assignment next week.

The Rangers can use all the pitching help they can get, so Harrison's return will be a very welcome addition. It seems logical that the team will use kid gloves with Harrison given his recent back issues, so don't expect to see him back until right around the All-Star break at the earliest. Analysis: David Kerr

Kelvin Benjamin continues to nurse a sore hamstring and sat out organized team activities Thursday.

Benjamin has been dealing with a hamstring injury for about a week and hasn't shown a whole lot of improvement. The Panthers aren't going to rush their franchise receiver back to the field in hope that he will return fully healthy. Barring a deeper injury, Benjamin should be ready for training camp. Analysis: David Kerr

Yasmani Grandal (concussion) could be activated and rejoin the Dodgers on Saturday.

Grandal will have to pass all of the proper concussion tests before rejoining the Dodgers, but it appears as though he's very close. Once he is cleared, he will slot back in as Los Angeles' everyday catcher. Analysis: David Kerr

Kiko Alonso (knee) was a full participant in organized team activities Thursday.

The Eagles' defense is finally getting healthy and the newly acquired Alonso is going to be a big time piece for the team. Alonso is about 10 months removed from ACL surgery and is already back to full strength. He figures to cause a lot of havoc on defense for Philadelphia. Analysis: David Kerr

Jaguars WR Rashad Greene is dealing with knee tendonitis.

Greene was selected in the fifth round of this year's NFL Draft and has a real chance to emerge as the Jaguars' slot receiver this season. His knee tendinitis isn't thought to be serious and the Jacksonville coaching staff is hoping that rest will help him. He's a strong player to target in dynasty leagues. Analysis: David Kerr

Jordy Nelson did not participate in organized team activities Thursday as he continues to recover from offseason hip surgery.

The Packers are more concerned about Nelson being healthy this upcoming season rather than participating in organized team activities. He may need a couple of extra weeks to get back to 100 percent, but barring any type of real setback, he'll be ready to go for Week 1 and will once again be Aaron Rodgers' primary receiver. Analysis: David Kerr

The agent of Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson said that Thompson does not have a concussion.

If Thompson does have a concussion, he has one week for the symptoms to go away before the start of the NBA Finals. We'll see how this plays out, but as of now, Thompson is fine and will have a full week to rest up. He has the biggest games of his life ahead of him, so sitting out probably isn't an option. Analysis: David Kerr

Kris Medlen will leave Arizona for a minor-league assignment "sooner than later", according to GM Dayton Moore.

Medlen is working his way back from his second Tommy John surgery, but everything appears to be going as planned. He will need a lengthy rehab assignment, but should be able to help the Royals during the second half of the season. Analysis: David Kerr

Ivan Nova (elbow) will make one more start at extended spring training before beginning a rehab assignment.

Nova continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery, but he's getting very close to a return. He is going to make several rehab starts before joining the Yankees, but it's possible that we could see him on the mound sometime before the All-Star break. He's worth a stash in deep AL-Only leagues. Analysis: David Kerr

Brewers will be recalling RHP Tyler Wagner to start Sunday’s game.

The Brewers need a spot start, so they're going to hand the ball to Tyler Wagner who will be called up from Double-A Biloxi. The 24-year-old right-hander owns a record of 5-1 with an ERA of 2.01 for the Shuckers this season. Where his game lacks is in the strikeout department as he's only posted 38 punchouts in 53 2/3 innings pitched. He'll face the Diamondbacks on Sunday in Milwaukee. Analysis: David Kerr
