Cole Hamels improved to 7-6 after allowing three runs on nine hits and a walk with four strikeouts over five innings on Wednesday against the Mariners.

Hamels didn't have best stuff against a Mariners team that traditionally struggles against left-handed pitchers -- especially ones of Hamels's caliber. He looks just like the guy who was contending for Cy-Youngs a few seasons ago. Run support will continue to be an issue in Philidephia, but it doesn't get much safer than his southpaw.
