Jose Reyes was productive Wednesday going 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored, RBI, and a stolen base in the Blue Jays 9-5 victory over the Brewers.
After an abysmal first-half, Reyes has steadily produced. August has been his best month to date, and he could be the most valuable shortstop down stretch after the injury of Troy Tulowitzki. Wednesday propelled his season line to an encouraging .294/.340/.417 with eight home runs and twenty-two steals. ANALYST:
Jon Lester said he feels good after his live batting practice session on Friday.
The Cubs have very high expectations after signing the 31-year old lefty to a six-year, $155 million deal in the offseason. The move to the NL should help maintain that 9.01 K/9 he had last season and if he can maintain his usual walk rate and groundball rate, he should be able to keep the ratios down as well. If you miss out on one of the top-tiered pitchers in your draft, a fourth-round Lester isn;t such a bad anchor for your rotation. Analysis: Howard Bender
