Masahiro Tanaka will throw a bullpen session on Wednesday.
These bullpen sessions are all about rebuilding Tanaka's stamina, so it is likely that they increase his pitch count which was at 25 during last Friday's session. While they want to push forward here, the club is going to have to be extremely cautious so not to further damage the UCL. The Yankees could just be spinning their wheels here as this could be all for naught. They are taking a big gamble here trying to get him ready for post-season that may never arrive and while yes, they invested a huge sum of money in him, sometimes you have to cut your losses in the immediate to build for a better future. The longer they delay the surgery, the further off it will be before they get him back.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Bryce Harper was 3-for-4 with two runs, a double, home run, two RBI and a walk on Saturday.
Bryce Harper has not been struggling but his home run on Saturday was his first in 12 games and came off of Madison Bumgarner. This is important as Harper is hitting 100 points higher against left-handed pitching this year as compared to his previous two seasons. With three hits versus the Giants, Harper is now slashing .344/.470/.719 as his breakout season continues. Harper has 25 home runs and 60 RBI and could make a run at 40 home runs this year. Bryce Harper will turn 23 in October. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Tyler Moore was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI on Saturday.
Tyler Moore made the most of his start on Saturday with three hits in four at bats driving in four runs for the Nationals. While this was a nice day and he had a very good approach with two strikes, Moore is a role player for the Nationals. This year, Moore has four home runs and 17 RBI in 55 games and is a National League only option at this point. Analysis: Greg Jewett
Michael Taylor was 1-for-5 with a leadoff home run on Saturday.
Michael Taylor made an appearance at leadoff for the Nationals facing Madison Bumgarner and Taylor made the most of the opportunity with a leadoff home run. It was his only hit of the day but Taylor is starting to show why he was a top prospect. This year, Taylor has six home runs and 28 RBI while hitting .246 but he has the tools to provide counting stats while hitting near .250. The longer Jayson Werth is on the disabled the longer that Taylor has value in fantasy. Analysis: Greg Jewett
