Yu Darvish, Adrian Beltre, Shin-Soo Choo and Elvis Andrus all cleared waivers for the Rangers and are now free to be traded to any team.

Although all four players cleared waivers without being claimed, it is unlikely a deal will be made in the short window the Rangers will be working with. This type of move is utilized to see just how much value each player is worth on the open market, so expect to see see all four players remain in Arlington the rest of the season. Phillies recalled Cody Asche from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

The Phillies seem ready to commit to Asche as their new starting left fielder which certainly gums up the outfield configuration for veterans like Ben Revere, Grady Sizemore and Jeff Francoeur. It also displaces Darin Ruf. While they may be happy with the defensive work he did down in the minors, Asche's bat never really heated up, so the team is still going to have some serious offensive woes. This plan may have looked good on paper, but it should be re-visited in a couple of weeks to see how things are panning out. Analysis: Howard Bender

Matt Holliday will likely not see time at first base this season.

There was plenty of speculation as to what the Cardinals would do with Matt Adams on the shelf for three to four months. One of the ideas was to have Holliday platoon with Mark Reynolds, but apparently that's not going to happen. Holliday remains happily entrenched in left field. Analysis: Howard Bender

Michael Conforto has been promoted to Double-A Binghamton.

He's batting .283 with seven home runs and 28 RBI through 46 games at High-A St. Lucie this season, so the next step was expected. He'll try and work his way through the system but he is far from being considered for fast-tracking. Analysis: Howard Bender

Dwight Howard has been suspended for the first game of the 2015-16 regular season after his foul in Game 4 was upgraded to a flagrant 1.

Howard got a little extra-feisty here in the playoffs and he dished out a lot of hard fouls. He'll probably take the one-game suspension and leave it at that. In the grand scheme of things, one game doesn't mean much. Analysis: Howard Bender

After playing catch on Thursday, Manager Lloyd McClendon said Hisashi Iwakuma (lat) felt good.

After a shutdown, Iwakuma finally resumed playing catch, and while the reports were positive, he is still at least a week away from throwing off a mound. From there, it's all about bullpen sessions, live batting practice, simulated games and then rehab starts, so he still has a ways to go. Barring any setbacks, the Mariners are hoping to have him back by the end of June. Analysis: Howard Bender

Warriors' Klay Thompson cleared his first concussion tests.

Thompson took a knee to the ear during Game 5 against the Rockets and left with dizziness and some blood trickling out. It was reported Thursday that he didn't have a concussion and that it was just a head contusion, but it looks like they'll run him through the protocol just to play it safe. Analysis: Howard Bender

Philadelphia 76ers will bring in Kendall Gray (Delaware State) for a workout Friday.

The 6-foot-10 center averaged 11.7 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks over 33.8 minutes per game in his senior year at Delaware State. The Sixers, as well as a few other teams, will bring him in for a workout to see if they have long term interest. Analysis: Howard Bender

The Orioles haven't decided whether Bud Norris (bronchitis) will make another rehab start.

It seems that it will all come down to what the team decides to do with Wei-Yin Chen who may miss a start Saturday. If so, Norris could get that call instead of another rehab start. Stay tuned. Analysis: Howard Bender

Jason Kipnis collected two more hits Thursday against the Mariners, giving him 15 multi-hit games and 48 total hits in May.

Kipnis is now batting .449 with four home runs, 16 RBI, 28 runs scored, three stolen bases and a 1.270 OPS for the month of May. He is just two hits and two runs scored of being the first guy to post 50 hits, 30 runs scored and a 1.200 OPS in a month since 2000. For those who were unable to show patience with the All-Star second basemen over the fist month of the season, this is your punishment. Analysis: Howard Bender

Broncos announce that they signed OT Ryan Harris.

The 30-year old lineman started for the broncos last year in the wake of Jeff Allen's season-ending surgery. He'll have to compete for the job this time around. Analysis: Howard Bender

Miguel Cabrera's surgically repaired foot is ok after being hit by a pitch in Thursday's game.

Cabrera came out of the game early after going 0-for-2 with an RBI, but not right after being hit, so it couldn't have bothered him much. The Tigers ran tests to be sure and everything came out just fine. Business as usual moving forward. Analysis: Howard Bender

X-rays came back negative on Xander Bogaerts' left forearm.

Bogaerts was hit on the arm with a pitch by Nick Martinez and left Thursday's game immediately afterwards. X-rays being negative is nice which means he's just dealing with a bruise. Consider him day-to-day. Analysis: Howard Bender

Red Sox manager John Farrell said "there's been no decision at this point" whether Eduardo Rodriguez makes his next start in Boston or at Triple-A Pawtucket.

Considering Farrell's post-game gushing about the youngster and the ugliness of the back-end of the rotation, we're guessing Rodriguez makes another start in the majors. It was an outstanding performance, though people should keep their enthusiasm in check. The Texas lineup has had major struggles this season and you can't freak out after just one start. Rein it in, people. Analysis: Howard Bender

Manuel Margot (intercostal muscle) started playing in extended spring training games Tuesday.

Margot seems to be recovering well from the strain. Once the team is satisfied with his progress, he will head back to High-A ball where he's been all year. Analysis: Howard Bender
