Alex Gordon went 2-for-4 with a triple, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored during the Royals' 12-6 win over the Twins on Sunday.
August continues to be an awesome month for Gordon as he is batting .339 with four home runs, eight RBI and 13 runs scored and we're barely past the halfway point. With Eric Hosmer out, Gordon, Billy Butler and now Josh Willingham have turned up their level of performance and at just the right time for fantasy owners. Gordon's over totals remain a little disappointing, but a strong finish like this could easily make us forget the first couple of months.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Jarrod Parker (elbow) hit 92 mph in his simulated game on Saturday.
Parker's surgery was in March of last year, knocking him out for all of 2014. Recovery has gone well for him, and he made a big step earlier in the Spring by throwing to live hitters. This was his second Tommy John procedure, so it's not a surprise that the Athletics are taking it slow with him. Parker had a decent year in 2013, his second full season in the majors, throwing 197 innings en route to a 3.97 ERA and 134 strikeouts. He's not a viable fantasy option this year, though, due to his injury. Analysis: Ben Diamond
