Jonathon Niese moved to 7-8 after he allowed three runs on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts over six innings against the Cubs on Saturday.
It certainly wasn't the best of outings, but Niese was able to pick up his second consecutive win after out-pitching Dan Straily. Niese is sitting on a 3.50 ERA and 1.28 WHIP through 23 starts while owning a 102:39 K:BB rate over 141.1 innings in the Mets starting rotation. The fact that he has now allowed five home runs over his last three starts is somewhat concerning, after serving up only nine home runs through his first 20 starts. He will look to get his control back in order when he takes on the Dodgers on Friday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
