UPDATES & NEWS
Nate Burleson (hamstring) rode a stationary bike on the side during Friday's practice, and isn't looking good for Monday's preseason matchup with the Redskins.
It could simply be that it is physically impossible for Burleson to stay healthy. If it's not one think, it's another. Are his bones like bird bones; light and hollow? Are his ligaments and tendons made of thread? Are his muscles made of paper? Whatever the case may be, Burleson is not someone you want to be drafting. Not this year and not ever. Steer clear from him or you'll be kicking yourself for wasting a draft selection. You may as well have taken a second kicker. At least he's got value.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Scott Baker's next start will either be Friday or Saturday.
With Brandon McCarthy now out for the balance of the season, Baker will try to solidify a role in the Dodger rotation. He pitched well in his first start this year, but gave up a pair of homers that led to him taking the loss against the Padres on Sunday. It did not help his cause that the Dodgers only managed to score one run behind him. Analysis: Ivar G. Anderson
