Mike Fiers tossed six scoreless innings allowing three hits and one walk while striking out a career-high 14 batters in Thursday's win over the Cubs.

Fiers has been a pleasant surprise since rejoining the Brewers starting rotation, having now allowed just one earned run while owning a 19:2 K:BB rate over 14.0 innings. What was even more impressive about Thursday's outing was that he struck out 10 batters in a row, which is something you certainly don't see everyday. He has flashed signs of solid production in the past, but did not factor into the Brewers plans prior to losing Matt Garza to an oblique injury, although now it will be hard to demote him if able to keep up this pace. He will be on the hunt for win No. 3 when he takes on the Blue Jays on Tuesday.
