Reds will place Homer Bailey on the 15-day disabled list before his next start, multiple sources have told the Enquirer.
Bailey has a flexor mass injury in his right arm, but the Reds say that he does not need surgery. The hope is that he can come back once his 15-days are up, but the team won't know anything until further down the road. Stash him for now, but it's starting to look like you may be able to just drop him in re-draft leagues. ANALYST: Howard Bender
Jed Lowrie left Monday's game with a thumb injury. He's going back to Houston Tuesday for an MRI.
In all likelihood Jonathan Villar or Marwin Gonzalez will fill in for Lowrie if he misses extended time, but there's an outside chance the first-place Astros call up uber-prospect Carlos Correa for his first major league taste. Correa is murdering the Texas League (Double-A) to the tune of .375/.429/.719 with four home runs and two stolen bases. He's worth a speculative add in competitive leagues until the situation becomes more clear. Astros GM Jeff Luhnow has hinted that he wouldn't be scared to "lift" Correa straight from Double-A at some point. Analysis: Spencer Silva
