Chris Archer improved to 8-6 after allowing just one run on four hits and two walks while striking out 12 batters over seven innings in Wednesday's 10-1 win over the Rangers.
Archer has now allowed just two earned runs over his last two starts, while owning a 18:3 K:BB rate over that stretch (13.0 IP). Despite a not-so-great record, Archer has managed a 3.24 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 24 starts while sporting a 135:54 K:BB rate in 144.2 innings. Although a strikeout performance like he displayed tonight is not going to happen everyday, he can still be a solid asset down the stretch for contending fantasy teams. He will look to keep up the pace when he takes on the Tigers in his next start on Tuesday.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
The Rangers released Ryan Ludwick on Sunday.
Ludwick was notified a couple days back that he would not be making the big-league team and was allowed to search for another team. He has struggled in Spring Training and hasn't been able to get over the .700 OPS mark the last two seasons. The Rangers will look internally to create outfield options for the 2015 season.
