Carlos Gonzalez's patella tendon damage has increased slightly and doctors will consult with him on Thursday.

It's actually getting to the point where owning CarGo is a flat out liability. He appeared in just 18 games after his finger surgery and now could be headed back under the knife for his knee if the club feel that it's the only way he can truly be 100-percent healthy next year. If his season did end here, it would be his worst statistical season since his first season in 2008.ANALYST: Howard Bender

The Rays will call up Mikie Mahtook on Tuesday.

Mahtook will take the roster spot vacated when the team designated Ernesto Frieri for assignment. He will provide the Rays with another right-handed bat off the bench as they head into a week where they will face five left-handed pitchers. Analysis: Howard Bender

Ernesto Frieri was designated for assignment Monday.

Frieri tossed a scoreless inning Monday and lowered his ERa to 4.63 over 22 innings this season, but the Rays needed another bat and if there was anyone in the bullpen who was expendable, it was Frieri. He could get claimed by a team without bullpen depth, but if he doesn't, he may not accept the assignment and try his luck as a free agent. Analysis: Howard Bender

Andre Ethier went 2-for-5 with a home run, triple, one RBI and two runs scored in the Dodgers 11-4 win over the Rockies on Monday.

Ethier came into the game with two home runs off Kyle Kendrick in his career and he wasted no time adding No.3 with a home run in his first at bat of the night. Overall this year Ethier is hitting .309 with 23 runs, seven home runs and 20 RBI to go with an impressive .395 OBP. The Dodgers have done a good job at limiting Ethier's exposure to left handed pitching which is something he has really struggled with over his career but surprising in 19 at bats Ethier is hitting .316 against southpaws which could lead the Dodgers to give him a few more opportunities against less overpowering lefties going forward. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Howie Kendrick went 2-for-6 with a home run, four RBI and a run scored in the Dodgers 11-4 win over the Rockies on Monday.

The home run was Kendrick's fifth of the season which puts him just two behind his 2014 total and on pace to approach his career high total of 18 set back in 2011. In his first season with the Dodgers Kendrick finds himself hitting in a prime position in the lineup and the career high 75 RBI which were set last season could most certainly be in range again this year. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Adrian Gonzalez went 4-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in the Dodgers 11-4 win over the Rockies on Monday.

Gonzalez's four hit night rose his batting average to .339 on the year to go with 34 runs, 10 home runs and 35 RBI as he finds himself on pace to notch his sixth straight 100 RBI season while hitting somewhere in the range of 25-30 home runs. His .339 batting average is the highest it's been since finished the 2011 season hitting .338 for the Red Sox but seeing that he's a career .293 hitter it's not unlikely he finishes around the .300 mark this year as well. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Joc Pederson went 1-for-6 with a three-run home run in the Dodgers 11-4 win over the Rockies on Monday.

Pederson homered for the second straight game to bring his season total to 14 on the year. Pederson is off to a great start to his career as he shows that the power displayed during his minor league career was no fluke as he leads all rookies in home runs and OPS. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Clayton Kershaw allowed two earned runs on five hits while walking one and striking out seven over seven innings while also going 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in the Dodgers 11-4 win over the Rockies on Monday.

Kershaw was once again impressive on Monday with his only blemish coming off the bat of Nolan Arenado who has now homered in three straight games. Not to be outdone Kershaw coupled his seven inning performance with three base knocks to bring his season hit total to five on the year. Though Kershaw has now pitched back-to-back quality outings he has been very hittable this season as he sits with a 3.73 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over 11 starts. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Ubaldo Jimenez earned a quality start on Monday after he allowed two earned runs on four hits while walking two and striking out eight over six innings in the Orioles 5-2 loss to the Astros.

The Baltimore bats just weren't there for Ubaldo on Monday as he earned the no-decision after throwing his fifth quality start of the season. Overall Jimenez is 3-3 with a 3.12 ERA while striking out 55 over 57.2 innings as he is looking much like the pitcher of 2013 where he finished 13-9 with a 3.30 ERA for the Indians instead of the 2014 version which saw him go 6-9 with a 4.81 for the Orioles. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Luke Gregerson struck out two during a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 14th save of the season in the Astros 5-2 win over the Orioles on Monday.

Gregerson is finding success in his first season as a full time closer after being a setup man over the past few seasons for the A’s and Padres. Though he’s coming off a rough month of May which saw him allowing seven runs over 10.2 innings he did not blow a save and he has relative job security until he proves he can no longer handle the job. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Luis Valbuena went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and one RBI in the Astros 5-2 win over the Orioles on Monday.

Valbuena launched his 11th home run of the season on Monday and is off to a good start to June after hitting just .163 for the month of May. Valbuena, like most of the Astros lineup, is an all-or-nothing type hitter who will provide plenty of power but will be a drain on your batting average so fantasy owners should take caution when considering him for their roster. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

Brett Oberholtzer allowed two earned runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out three over 5.1 innings in the Astros 5-2 win over the Orioles on Monday.

Oberholtzer was activated off the DL to make the start on Monday and though he did not pick up the win he should be pleased with his performance. It was just his second start of the season after getting injured back on 5/13 but overall Oberholtzer has been effective this season, allowing three earned runs over 8.1 innings while striking out six. Analysis: Jonathan Impemba

David Freese went 2-for-3 with a home run, one walk, one RBI and one run scored on Monday against the Rays.

Freese is quietly enjoying this six-game hit streak he has at the moment. His average is rather low, but he his hitting home runs and driving in runs enough to warrant some ownership in deeper leagues. He is a top-20 third baseman at the moment, so his only real value comes in deeper leagues. Analysis: Colby Conway
