Ian Desmond went 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk as the Nationals embarrassed the Mets in a 7-1 victory at Citi Field on Tuesday night.
Though his average hasn't been up to par, Desmond has been very solid this season in the counting categories. With just seven more steals, Desmond would finish 20/20 for the third consecutive season.ANALYST: David Kerr

Blue Jays optioned RHP Scott Copeland to Triple-A Buffalo.
Copeland didn't pitch during his short stint back with the club, but recorded three scoreless innings in a previous stint earlier this month. At 27, he's not much of a prospect in spite of having strong success in the International League in 2015. He could eventually establish himself as a swingman for the Jays in the near future.
