Knowshon Moreno participated in his first full-padded practice Monday, and he wasn't afraid to test his knee. Moreno made several sharp cuts and had an impressive inside run for about 25 yards, the report said.
Well that's a pretty good start at least. Whether or not he would play has never been in question, but how long he will play, that's been the big issue. While the knee looks to be good now, the wear and tear after taking in-game hits is going to be the big problem. Hopefully he can withstand the punishment because no one wants to have to see Lamar Miller or Daniel Thomas coming out of that backfield.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Tim Duncan (rest) will not play Friday against Denver.
The Spurs will take advantage of the holiday and give Duncan an extra day of rest and get ready for Saturday against the Hawks. The Spurs could go with LaMarcus Aldridge at center for Friday and use David West at power forward or they could just give Boris Diaw the start. Either way, those are the three players likely to see the extra work in Duncan's absence. Analysis: Howard Bender
