FANTASY PLAYER UPDATES & NEWS

Dodgers Ace Clayton Kershaw moved to 14-2 after allowing one run on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts over eight innings against the Brewers on Sunday.

Par for the course. Kershaw is the best pitcher in the NL, and arguably the best in all of baseball -- with apologies to Felix Hernandez. ANALYST:

Jean Segura is doing well but the Brewers will have him see another doctor before he leaves Chicago.

Segura was hit in the head by a pitch while trying to lay down a bunt. It's good to hear he is doing well. We'll update his status. Analysis: Brett Talley

Red Sox have a rehab schedule that would bring Shane Victorino back in Oakland on their next trip.

Victorino's return will likely hurt Allen Craig the most. Craig and Daniel Nava have been splitting time in right field, and Victorino will likely take over the right-handed side of that platoon. Chances are good that Victorino will eat into Nava's playing time as well. Analysis: Brett Talley

Anthony Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a triple, one RBI and one run scored against the Cubs on Sunday.

Rizzo is continuing his success from last season, and is even exceeding expectations to an extent. In 140 games last season, Rizzo stole five bases. Rizzo, a first baseman in fact, already has six swiped bags this season. Rizzo will continue to be a force at first base in all fantasy formats, and could be in line for a monster season if he can stay healthy. Analysis: Colby Conway

Jason Hammel allowed three earned runs on five hits with one walk while striking out four in six innings of work against the Brewers on Sunday.

Hammel earned a quality start in this one, as he limited the Brewers to three earned runs in six innings. His four strikeouts were a season low, but owners should continue to expect close to a strikeout an inning from the veteran righty. Hammel will put his 2-1 record on the line next Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Analysis: Colby Conway

Aramis Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, three RBI and one run against the Cubs on Sunday.

Ramirez missed the last two games with a hamstring injury, but he returned today and looked fine. He hit his third home run of the year and raised his RBI total to 10 on the year. While he will get regular days off and is as fragile as glass, he should still be one of the better options at the hot corner in all fantasy formats. Health is the major issue with the veteran third baseman. Analysis: Colby Conway

Francisco Rodriguez allowed one hit while striking out one batter in his only inning en route to his fourth save of the season on Sunday against the Cubs.

K-Rod has an ERA of 2.00 on the season and he has found his strikeout groove of late. He has four strikeouts in his last two innings and he should be a quality fantasy closer moving forward. He may not get ample chances due to the nature of the Brewers, but he will capitalize on the opportunities he is presented. Analysis: Colby Conway

Jimmy Nelson allowed three earned runs on seven hits with two walks and six strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings of work against the Cubs on Sunday.

Following his worst start of the year in his last outing, he bounced back with a quality start against the Cubs. He notched his third quality start of the year and his six strikeouts were his second highest total in a game this season. Nelson should be added in the majority of formats because he can be a serviceable fantasy option in most formats. He will be looking for his second win of the season on Friday against the Chicago Cubs. Analysis: Colby Conway
