Manny Machado went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a run scored in Friday's blowout win over the Cardinals.
Machado is slashing .333/.405/.485 through 33 August at-bats as he continues to put together a solid second half of the season. Despite a solid batting average Machado has just four RBI to go along one home run in the month, but if he keeps makes good contact down the stretch there is no way his production can stay down like we have seen through his first eight games in August.ANALYST: Matthew Beck
Gerald Wallace has been traded to the 76ers.
It is unclear what the 76ers plans are for Wallace, but for now he seems to be in line for starting minutes, based on the current talent in Philadelphia. They can't amnesty Wallace, as they used that privilege in 2012 for Elton Brand, but maybe they could stretch his contract like they considered for Javale McGee last season. In any event, Wallace is past his fantasy prime. Analysis: Dom Murtha
Luis Severino's next start will be with the Yankees, GM says Brian Cashman.
They really have nowhere else to turn considering they have Pineda on the DL and they made it clear that Severino is untouchable in any trade deal. The Yankees value Severino as their top prospect, and for good reason, as his upper 90's fastball has tremendous movement, and his secondary pitch, his changeup, comes from the same arm slot at about 12 mph slower with similar movement. He also features a less polished slider, but most would expect Severino to make an almost instant impact with the big league club, especially with that powerful Yankees offense backing him up.
