Josh Beckett had an MRI on his hip and is likely to land on the disabled list. It's possible he's out for the season.
Bad news for the Dodgers here, but likely expected which is why they traded for Roberto Hernandez earlier on Thursday. Even if he's not out for the duration of the season, you're safe to drop him as a start or two in late September isn't going to do you that much good anyway, especially considering he won't be at 100-perent.ANALYST: Howard Bender
Colin Kaepernick has worked with Kurt Warner on his throwing mechanics this offseason.
Specifically, the story notes that Kaepernick is working on "engaging his lower half" to allow for better touch. It's hard to believe Kurt Warner would know more about throwing mechanics than Jim Harbaugh or any other quarterback coach Kap has ever worked with. This appears to be more fluff than anything else, though is reports from camp suggest there's been a real change to approach or delivery of throwing a football, it could be something worth remembering on draft day.
